Im sure i will open a can of worms here but what is your favorite muzzle brake for an AR in 308 ? I shot one yesterday with what he said is a PVI muzzle brake but cant find them in a Google search .This brake seemed to work very good . Arnie

JP Enterprises out of Minnesota. They have the "Recoil Eliminator" which has love-it-or-hate-it-looks but is super effective and the more traditional looking brakes for all barrel sizes that also work very well. I am putting one on my 308 to hopefully spot misses through the scope.

If you are trying to reduce climb and not recoil, then I would go Battle Comp. I normally stick to flash hiders. However I got one for my long range rifle so I could keep my scope on target. It works. It's also loud.

Just ordered a JEC. Should have it next week and put a few round down range before Christmas.

The JEC Customs manufactured recoil reduction muzzle brake offers an unmatched amount of recoil reduction by redirecting the muzzle blast against the front wall of the baffles and out of the sides of the break. Optimal port angles and size has been achieved for this brake to maximize effectivness. While the top ports combat muzzle rise allowing the shooter to remain on target to witness impacts and make sight adjustments on the target. The brakes are made from high quality stainless 303 steel and Black 1144 stress proof steel.

Used a Troy Claymore on my M 110 clone it looks great and it works sends allot of noise away from the shooter. not the most recoil reduction but gas goes forwards and not back or sideways and it has the compliance teeth for when your out of bullets.

I love mine, it works great.

I have a SJC Titan on an 18" rifle and it feel like shooting a 223. Very low recoil and very flat shooting. I also have a JP on my other rifle (22") and it also works great. On my 21" M1As, I have a SEI and Springfield. SEI works great but the springfield, not so much. Out of the four, I prefer the Titan. I'd expect more recoil from a shorter barrel but it seems like the Titan does an excellent job.
