Good Sling

Re: Good Sling

I have gone to Viking Tactics adjustable sling for everything for every long gun I own from AR pistol to 14 pound 300WM. I love the adjustability, comfort, and ease of transfer. I attach it to my "traditional" style stocks by installing McMillan flush mount swivel cups in a manner to carry it like a traditional 2 point system on an AR style rifle. I found this to be much more secure and comfortable that customary sling swivel locations.

Re: Good Sling

I have a Larue, an enhanced Vtac and a Troy, all with QD flushcup swivels. They all work on AR's and my bolt gun. I have been using the Troy lately for my 700, it has the best pad and a bungee section to take up shock. I like it. I'll post a pic after lunch.

You will need to have your own QD swivels or hardware, depending on how you want to mount it.

+1 Once you go VTAC you don't go back!

Anyone want to comment on the AICS sling?</div></div>

The V-Tac sling works great on heavy bolt guns, I've used them for years. Get the type with the pad and you'll be all set. I shot a comp with a bunch of active duty military guys a few weeks ago and they all had V-Tac slings on their bolt rifles.

TIS and TAB slings are fantastic also. Both are bomb proof and are designed to help you shoot in sling supported type situations (slip cuff/quick cuff).

There are several threads on TIS and TAB slings with pictures and comments from users. Do a SH Google Search and you'll find lots of info on them.
