F T/R Competition Good Time With F Class Guys

I went shooting with some F Class guys yesterday morning. I really felt like a dork showing up with my Rem 700 XCR Tactical 308 compared to their ridiculously cool customs. I couldn't believe how friendly they all were. They gave me tons of tips and were just generally happy to see me excited about getting into the sport.

I guess I've run into so many of these snobby ass "um, my rifle is all custom, my scope cost 3 times what your whole set up cost, so don't bother me, your not a part of the club" douche bags that I was totally caught off guard when I was accepted with open arms!

Well anyway, F Class is awesome!

The only warning my gunsmith gave me when i was questioning about him taking me to shoot F-Class, was be safe, and follow instructions and everyone will be more than happy to help.

couldn't agree more, I have met a lot of really cool, knowledgeable guys at many matches.

As for the "snobby asses", You find them everywhere. Whether your into shooting,fishing,golf,race cars whatever. I've always wrote it off to those guys having below average wiener sizes so they try to find a way to feel superior in some way to everyone else. In general if you share similar interests most welcome you and go out of their way to help out.

Of all the F-Class shooters I've shot with around the world, I have met less than a handful that won't help out/give advice to newer shooters... More than a few times I've seen competitors loan their own rifles and ammo to other shooters, whether they know them personally or not, when their opponent's rifles have gone down, for whatever reason.

There are always exceptions, but generally shooters are a good group.

I shot my first F class match a couple of months ago at the Oklahoma City Gun Club in Okc. Everyone was more then helpful and didn't mind questions at all. Had alot of fun!

Yeah thats how my gunsmith partly convinced me to go with him, he said i could shoot his 6mm dasher, his ammo, his gun, and he'd gibe me the ride to memphis, so i didn't have to waste my gas. Also offered to help me load for my .308 if i needed it. I couldn't pass up the opportunity.
