Can anyone make recommendations on a good two radio system. Interested in being able to utilize some type of headset. I don't know much about these systems at all, but I don't know several times in tactical training drills it would have been nice to have something. Also wanting to use to keep in touch when hunting when the law allows. Thanks for any help.

Re: good two way radios

Ok ..you can use any off the shelf FRS system ... Garmin offers a GPS radio so you can see where the other person is when transmitting. My experience with those radios is that they suffer from lack of power and privacy even with the side band. I got my HAM radio licenses ..(very easy with "no-code") and picked up a Yeasu that is waterproof and offers frequency encryption-- works well with VOX and with throat microphones. I am not saying that Yaesu is the best there are several out there but all require a HAM licenses ... but if you want something that works and has the power to communicate over miles. That is the road I would suggest you go down.
