Granfather clause on selling.

I just logged in and noticed some new rules. I've been a member since Nov 2010 but rarely log in when I come here. I usually just visit and do a lot of reading. I never seem to find the need to post a comment because I generally can always locate the information I'm in search of and I usually read a thread all the way through and discover that someone else has usually already asked the same question I had. So the info is already posted, no need in me making a comment of acknowledgement just to spam up a topic. I like this site. It has a lot of knowledgeable members who contribute a wealth of information. I was thinking of possibly placing an item up for sale and now I see that I'm required to submit 100 posts. I really don't have much to add that hasn't already been covered by someone else. Thoughts forward please.

Re: Granfather clause on selling.

looks like you've actually been a member since Apr. 2011, but understand this site isn't about selling, it's about learning and community. Some people were grandfathered under the old 50 posts rule, but that was pre 2010... not sure exectly when.

there are plenty of places to sell, gunbroker, etc...

please continue to enjoy the hide, even though you can't sell here.

and you probably have more to add than you think.

Jeff

Re: Granfather clause on selling.

No,

The grandfather clause is not for people who signed up early, its for people who actually contributed early.

If you can't use the FS section you are not grandfathered and there is no grandfathering for you. If you signed up and had over 50 posts when the rule changed you were grandfathered.

You have 1 post, this post that is it... there is no grandfather for no posts

Re: Granfather clause on selling.

Roger, copy that traffic gentlemen. Most of the men on here seem pretty honest and I've noticed they generally sell items pretty quickly among themselves in private msg's. I had a piece of equipment I was thinking of turning loose and the guys on here were my first thought. I get a lot of help and information here by reading through the posts. I appreciate you addressing my topic. This is a great site. Keep up the good work gents, Semper Fi.

Judging that these are PRIVATE MESSAGES I doubt you would know such. Plus if you were saying you will just try to sell by sending PMs to people who might be interested then that would also be against the rules.

Re: Granfather clause on selling.

Wow, imagine that....It's posts like the one by strangedays that typically ruin sites with forums. Starngedays why would you even waste your time by posting such a baseless comment that obviously offers no real value or relevance to the topic? By your post you are seemingly over analytical and antagonistic. At no time did I say I plan to sell any such items outside the guidelines of this page, nor did I imply that I would try to circumvent the rules of this page. I'm here to procure information, not peddle merchandise. I'm a person of integrity and usually tend to help others. I know that there are fellow service members on here that would love to have said piece of equipment and I would have rather it went to a brother in arms than just some civilian. However, due to my junior status on this site that is not possible. In other news, said piece of equipment was put on consignment yesterday afternoon locally and I received verification on it's sale this morning which compelled me to write this in response to your comment. I consider this matter closed and any further input will be null and void. Thank you and good day Sir. Respectfully, Lance Colonel.

I was simply pointing out the baseless comment you made. Mind explaining what it is you did mean? Reread your post and then look at how it sounds then look at how you don't explain anything other than your item already sold so you don't care anymore. Unless you are trying to sell via the shout box I don't see how anyone is simply selling through PMs among ourselves.

Before I read this I will admit some guy made a comment about buying Prvi casings for those of us that shoot them and I posted in the post that I need 100 posts before I can sell them to him. I also PM'ed him regarding that, but also explained I know where he lives as my parents live very close and I would stop by on my way down sometime.

So I am willing to come clean and do not mind waiting since there is some great info and stuff to learn here
