Way to idolize and glamorize a murdering, cowardly POS! The American media and "journalism" at its finest.

The cover phrase suggests he isn't responsible for his actions. Failed by his family? "Fell" into radical Islam? What kind of bullshit is this? This fucker left a bag full of shrapnel and explosives at the feet of women, children, and other innocent people only to run away and hide. Rolling Stone really missed the boat with the Adam Lanza exposé. Just what I want to read in a magazine that used to be about music.....climate change and a terrorist.

I would like somebody, anybody, explain to me how killing other people in the name of a religion is going to make me want to convert, what is the allure of killing yourself while killing other people, I'll take a dirty whore or 2 over a bunch of virgins, the truth is unless we convert we can and be will be taxed, tortured, and murdered because we will be deemed of a lesser religion, these people are all our enemies, they bitch to no end over any perceived insult, but ask for and are granted Unconsitutional actions because we all grew up and were taught that we are a Country of immigrants, stop letting them in, start kicking them out, and under no circumstances bow to there requests, the separation of Church and State must be retained and reinstated, if they don't like it they can all go somewhere else

Makes way too much sense, but, wouldn't it be great!

This country is starting to circle the drain and the media is helping out with the flushing...

So - who has read the article, and who is simply reacting to the "buzz" surrounding the cover photo? Just curious; I'm not judging anyone.

An interesting article (the part available online), if overly sentimental at times. I think it's an important look at the personal life of someone who chose to become a terrorist; "leakage" is a new term for me. Looking forward to reading the whole thing.

I think the cover photo is smart, even if the headline-text associated with it is ludicrous.

I don't think it's smart. If I remember correctly, the majority of people here were upset with the way the media handled the Sandy Hook deal. We all remember the shooter's name but none of the victims. We learned that Adam Lanza was obsessed with mass shootings and wanted to cause the worst one in history. Things like magazine covers and indepth articles give the next whackjob further incentive. Not that it will be the sole reason a kid will want to blow up innocent people, but the thought of making the cover of Rolling Stone does appeal to people. Rolling Stone should have made him look like the coward and terrorist he is, not a Jim Morrison wannabe. Nothing is by accident in printing. Anyone remember the John McCain photoshoot in 2008? It was done by a Lib photographer and she portrayed him as an angry, old white man. The cover photo of the Boston Bomber just has that "cool" "defiant" look.
I'm not boycotting the magazine or anything, I just feel the tone could have been set better with perhaps a cover photo of the dude with his legs blown off and still keep the article of Tamerlan as written.

In my pinion who gives a shit, i dont read or buy shit magazines, i dont watch shit "news" programs etc etc. This thread is exactly the intent of this shit magazine cover, start a buzz, start a debate, get folks emotions up, sell a lot more shit magazines

I certainly hope you don't put Juggs magazine in this same catagory. There are some "shit" magazines out there and there are some magazines out there highlighting actual "shit". I trust an established man like yourself has an extensive library of worthy magazines.

Well . . . McCain is pretty pissed most of the time.

Rolling Stone, what is this world coming to, yes he's a rock star, in the old days the only stone be would be rolling, would have been under the hammer he was swinging, with life at hard labor. And now they are going to punish a police officer for trying to let the people see the truth. If I owned a store that sold magazines I would send that rag back to the publisher so they can use it for something more along the line of what it has become. Does anyone else out there remember what the Sears and Roebuck catalog was used for in the old days. Back when the restroom was called an outhouse. Sounds like a good use of the Stone. That publisher should be the one being punished, not a police officer that just wanted people to wakeup and smell the gunpowder.

I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning, smells like liberty is coming.

I grown up in a socialist country where a certain part of society "criminal elements" where often excused by the court and the media as not responsible for their deeds. Now they have there and in many other countries I know more rights than regular law abiding citizens. Some countries criminal's family receive a type of salary from the government for the period of time the criminal's incarcerated, not to mention the vacation time from prison. Brazil and some European countries are like this. You dont want to know the crime rate in Brazil, but that would be a different story.
Get used to it that criminals and thugs will be turned into heroes and freedom fighters and mass murderers and serial killers on the face of magazines that brings out those who want fast fame. Politicians, administration and even few low life gun-dealers would love to have another mass murder to use it for political or financial gain. We live in a disgusting society.

Fact is that Rolling Stone is basically irrelevant and is in financial trouble. This cover created a ton of buzz and a lot of press for them. We can't stand it. A good portion of the population will whip out their credit cards and become RS subscribers... a nice blivet of cash they need to stay alive. A couple more years and RS is gone. If we weren't all talking about this cover, it would be <2 years.

That said, I can think of several things, most involving bolt cutters and a blowtorch, I would like to do to the snapperhead who decided this was a good idea. But I can't, so there you go.

Cheers,

Sirhr
