Well first time out shooting MY new tac ops. Started to get some new precision toys and man I tell you its so nice. Makes zeroing so much nicer, cant wait to shoot some groups with it and my GAP.

Some people may say that certain guns are over priced and such but I dont care Ill gladly spend my hard earned money on them. Just wish I had more time to shoot them.

Think I need to sell a kidney so I can buy another gun lol

My understanding is this Zulu is the only Mike will make. This was a special made rifle for a friend of Mike (hence the long barrel which Mike prefers not to put on.)

Either way one hell of a rifle if you ask me

I'm pretty sure that's why you start out with two!

Re: Great time at range with Tac ops...sweet toy

There's some fine engraving on that rifle. If the OP wants to show it, there's a cool engraving Mike did for Lonewolf on the muzzle.

That's an awesome build right there, but I hate seeing it called a toy, have to say.

Congrats and may you enjoy it in good health.

Re: Great time at range with Tac ops...sweet toy

There's been one other that I've seen and that belonged to that undeserving fool Savage110 or whatever he changed his name to.

Both rifles however are total lasers.

Re: Great time at range with Tac ops...sweet toy

Thanks Junior for that

Sorry been busy with my new job and such so didnt see this was brought back up a few times.

Eventhorizon it def is a very nice weapon. Mike did a amazing job as he always does. And as far as the "toy" comment well it is a weapon and is a hell of one at that, and no weapon is a toy. But it does bring a smile to my face every time i shoot it or even look at it!

Thanks again guys

Let me step in for a moment

Tac Ops built the platform OG for a dear friend from 5th Group. In fact he is a member here on The Hide ODA726 I believe that is his user name. Don gave me the parts and when I saw the 1 piece base in the box I was NOT happy. How can you tell a dear friend no ? So thats the bottom line...

I am pleased the new owner likes the platform

Re: Great time at range with Tac ops...sweet toy

So will I get bloodied if I ask why Mike does not like a one piece base? I browse around quite a bit but dont get to see a whole lot of Mikes work or hear his comments.

No harm in asking this. But your best source of information is Mike himself. Basically what it boils down to is that Mikes experience has told him that a one piece base adds additional stress on the receiver due to alignment issues. This is an over simplified answer but like I already said, your best answer will come from Mike himself. Give him a call and he will be happy to speak with you.

There are several factors why I do not like the one piece base set up. One needs to eliminate the accumulation of errors at the receiver when building a platform that will have a 1/4 MOA guarantee or better. The one piece base set up causes stress and limited access to loading your platform, thus I do not use them.

FYI, a few other reasons as well but that can be expressed telephonically if you wish to call 310-275-8797... I would not post in an open forum not to hurt anyones feelings...

I love the stock, and I love the heavy texture done by Mike and his guys.

As far as the build it self like Mike and I stated this weapon was built for a different person. I bought this off a family member who is also on this forum. AKA Juinors

Every Tac Ops rifle Ive touched or shoot (or seen shot) has been of the highest quality. Nothing but good words for the detail and work Mike puts into every rifle he ships out. I cant wait to save up for another one some day

Thanks Mike, no need to take up your time, the readers digest version was just fine. Have seen your rifles shoot enough to know there was a reason someplace.
