Hello guys,

My name is Kanit (or you can call me Ken). I am native Thai, 50 years old and live in Bangkok, Thailand. Been in rifle for 4 years but most is rimfire, just got centerfire 2 years ago with Remington 5R mil spec, love this one.

There is only one shooting range which can support more than 200 yards in Thailand around 250 km from Bangkok, that why I can practice much.

Thank you for warm welcome,

Kanit

Welcome from Montana.

Out of curiosity, what are the gun laws for civilians like in Thailand?

They allow people to buy handgun once barrel is shorter than 6" both semi and revolver.

For rifle, semi auto is allow only rimfire,. Bolt Action is allow up to .45 but practically largest civilian bolt action selling in the market is .338 Lapua. So, AR-15 and AR-10 is illegal for civilian here.

Sound suppressor is prohibited, gun carry is prohibited except you are specially have license (hard as hell to have).

To purchase and own gun you need to apply for license first. Little complicated documents. They will check your financial and crime record.

FYI, the gun and rifle here is very expensive, 3 times than US price.

Best Regards,
Kanit

Yes sir. One thing I did here a while back was read all the "sticky" posts. They have tons of information in there.

Is reloading ammunition popular or legal in Thailand? There is a gold mine of information in the reloading parts of this website.

Unfortunately, reloading or making ammunition is illegal in Thailand. My country still perceive gun as "weapon" not sport. Even public perceived people who own gun as gangster or person who like violent.

Mostly I need to purchase factory load ammo, expensive and cannot experiment.

But I will learn about the reloading (primer, powder, case and bullet) too for knowledge. :)
