I’m all for capitalism and making money. But for a reputable ship to gouge to such astronomical prices is ludicrous. It’s not like they won’t do the business in store and sell it for a profit in store.
Even if they did mark it up to make a few extra $$$
iwas just there the other day loojing for h1000 and would have paid a bit more than cost per lb.i asked if they had any and nope they arent getting in from distributor..... uh huh I’m calling bs.
I mean hell my whole family goes down there 3 1/2 hours away to get stuff.
not anymore

scroll through the feedback on GB and you’ll see it’s grices in clearfield ,pa

I think it’s sort of depends… Take a look at Midway they had IMI 77 grain match king razor core for $650 for 500 rounds.

Realistically it probably cost him an arm and a leg to buy it and they marked it up 10 to 15%.

I put a bunch of stuff out there that I just want to get rid of and people have blowing it up to where I’m not just recovering what it originally cost me but it’s also gotten me 120% on some of the stuff.

I was shocked when someone bought a box of federal gold medal match 308 175 gr for $600.

for me it’s been useful because I’ve been able to get some of the crap that I’ve had sitting around the house for a long time out and not take a bath on shipping

Edited it as I am mis-remembered the price midway with selling

But you’re putting it as an auction not a set price.
let the customers bid it up.
Hell cheaper than dirt is getting sued by the state of Texas for gouging the piss outta stuff

I haven’t seen $890 for IMI at midway, last I saw it was $650 for 500.

Everyone claims freedom and capitalism are great until their effected products are on the rise. Than they set what kind of rules companies should make and what prices make sense, kinda like communism? I don't know the right answers but it's funny to see the hypocrisy.

It’s one thing to turn a profit it’s another when you’re refusing to sell to locals. Just to mark up to a stupid price. I’d gladly paid a little more than retail for for some powder and primers.
If you look up the items they have listed they are priced higher than anyone else with the particular item. Not just my 100 or so. But 500-600

I just returned from a local gun show. If I had a bunch of spare ammo, I figure I could retire. 32ACP for a $1.00 a round? Powder running $60 per pound? Thank goodness I don't need any. I can comfortably make it until prices come down to more realistic levels. (Assuming I live that long.)

Definition of capitalism is, an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state. He's the private owner, he sets price. Or would you rather control his price by using state laws, like communism... I'm not after you and I hope I don't offend you. I just think about the hypocrisy.

You worrying about his price so you'd like them to change?? If it was your way would you make a law so that he changes his prices?

My grandpa always told something is worth what someone is willing to pay. Just because folks are willing to pay more than you doesn’t make it wrong that someone is selling it for a price you don’t want to pay or can’t afford. Sounds like this hobby has become too expensive for some; shit happens!

He can keep his price the way it is. Doesn’t change the fact it’s a douche thing to do plain and simple

I am also allowed to oppose a company that has a price i dont like. Its still called freedom of speech. They have a free market i have freedom to say they are price gouging.

But price gouging is free market. So your basically saying, "how dare you be a douche and exercise your right to free market", but I believe in free market except when it effects me." I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy and you kind of enforced it. Would you rather him lower his prices by passing a state law? OP wasn't willing to answer so I kind of know his answer.

All I'm saying is don't say you believe in free market and than complain that the person is exercising free market. Or do, your freedom of speech.

You don't have to love every aspect of something to agree with it. I am a Republican but I disagree with some things they do and some of there beliefs but I'm still Republican. I don't support price gouging and can exercise my right to never go back but still support a free market.

Shooter: “Look at this guy’s corruption! I’m never gonna support him again! I don’t think you guys like it either do you?”

Fellow Shooter: “What are you, a communist?! This is the free market! Stop complaining.”

Shooter: “I’m allowed to say what I want, this is America!”

Fellow Shooter: “Complaining isn’t gonna change it, shoulda prepared.”

Shooter: “I am prepared, but I’m just sayin’ this is outrageous.”

Everyone else that has to listen to the dialogue:

No a law shouldn’t be passed . I don’t have a problem answering your question. So quit assuming. Make yourself look like an ass.
what I’m saying is people are driving prices up by doing stlike this and it hurts the gun community as a whole.

I don’t need powder or primers bad enough to pay that price. Your right It’s his right to gouge and be a douche.
On the same hand isn’t it might right as a consumer to be able to point out to others what the company is doing. Thus letting them form there own opinion on what to do in the future.... to continue to do business with them or take it else where.

thanks for playing though. the whole thing can go both ways. To each there own.

I actually assumed you wouldn't want a law passed, so now your making yourself look like an ass. 🤣 I'm just playing devils advocate. Obviously Cheaper than dirt hasn't gone out of business although the complaints of never doing business with them can be seen throughout the interwebs.

Most people that are complaining about the pricing don't understand what it takes to run a business. If I only get 10k rounds for the next 6 months or more based on this crazy climate, am I going to sell at an old regular price to get cleaned out and make minimum profit? Now I have empty shelves that won't get filled for 6+ months. I have to adjust to be able to pay employees and expenses, while projecting what inventory I may or may not get in the future.

Holy shit people.

How many times do we need to tell you the PX is NOT a discussion forum.

The OP shouldn’t have posted this here. And everyone responding is shitting in the PX as this constantly bumps the ad.
