I learned the hard way that my homeowners only covered $2500. Luckily I didn't loose everything, bout $4500, and I didn't have as much valued items as I do now.
I itemized with my homeowners for a while but traded several off on others and gave them updated info at time of trade. At a policy review a year later the still hadn't updated inventory and I figured I wouldn't have likely had those covered so switched to Eastern lowest plan and got more coverage at same price and no itemization. Hopefully never have to find out how the claim is but sounds good in speaking with them.
They caught the piece of shit that took mine, plead guilty to felony, and the courts did virtually nothing to him. Caught him again involved in shooting, possession of weapon as felon, and again virtually no punishment from courts. Yet when I try to talk to gun control activists about getting tough on these criminals they either don't want to talk about that or tell me if I didn't have them, they couldn't steal them. So it's my fault.....apologies for the off topic rant.
