Gun Safe Dehumidifiers

I noticed a little oxidation on the set screws on my McMil Adj A3-5 stock. Ive never had a problem with rust before. I purchased one of those dehumidifiers that changes colors, and that you can recharge by plugging into an outlet. Do I have to worry about this thing drying out the stock on my Garand? The rest of my guns have synthetic stocks.

i have never had a problem w/ wood stocks drying out in a safe.

If it's one of the EvaDry units, I haven't had a problem with mine. I've got 2 in my safe and haven't had any issues with the wood stocks.

I use a Goldenrod and never had a issue with it as well. It leaves a slight amount of heat in the safe. You can hold it with you hand so it won't be a fire hazard.

I've seen no issues on any of mine either. I run one of the same that you have and a golden rod.

Haven't had any trouble using the goldenrod in my safe.

I went to Lowe's and they had these small buckets of dehumidifier. They were two for $10. Work very well and last a month.

I have both the goldenrod and one of the large 750 gram silica gel canisters in one of my safes. You don't have to worry about these products over-drying the interior of your safe.

Had a goldenrod for years, wouldn't be without it.

Goldenrod and DampRid in both my safes. Never had an issue even when the safes were in the garage.
