Gun Safe Pics?

Planning on buying my first gun safe and was hoping to see how you guys have your interior laid out. I'm considering going with a Sturdy safe or spending less for a Liberty safe of similar size. I'm only now just getting into long guns and it seems like many racks in gunsafes are ill equipped to handle scoped rifles. I'm also trying to get an idea of how tall I need the safe to be. I'd like to store my handguns in racks on a shelf or two above the rifles if possible.

So I started out looking at safes and found the same thing with the roominess of the safe with scoped rifles so i ended up going with the Liberty Fat Boy so I could get to my guns without having to move all of my guns to get to one that I wanted to go shoot. A couple of things to keep in mind is location make sure that you can place the non hinge side against a wall to make it more difficult or impossible to put a pry bar in the door or if you can put the safe in a location that would surround both sides and the back so a torch cannot be used to cut into the safe, bolt it down to a concrete or substantially reinforced floor with good anchors if a couple of thieves can tip the safe over then it is much easier to pry it open, and lastly get the best quality safe you can afford with the highest capacity if you are like most gun fanatics you will grow out of the smaller safe in no time and end up with 2 or be selling it to upgrade to a larger.Something i forgot to add is the accessory panel that is on the door in the franklin model safes made by Liberty is really nice for documents in the cool pocket(s) and mine has 10 pistol holsters built in as well.Just my 2 cents

Just get bigger than you think you need! I have a fatboy Jr, which is a 48 gun safe, but when you put scope rifles in, it dramatically reduces that number. Get the biggest you can afford, but make sure It's going to do what you need. You can always buy one of those pistol racks that hang/mount on the door.

As others have stated go with the biggest safe that you can, if you think a 36 gun will do get the next one bigger. The door storage systems work really well too, I have an American Sec. and the make a pretty cool door organizer.

The rifle rods work really well making it easy to store more rifles and get them in and out of the safe.

first post and ill contribute. i dont have a safe but ive got one of the lockable lockers. supposed to hold 10 guns. ive got a stock chinese sks, a scoped russian sks, my hp9 shotgun and a scoped r700 and its tight in there. as mentioned above, always go more than what you think you may need, because you will eventually fill it up

Definately go bigger than you need. That's what I was told and that's what I did. I'm sure glad too. I also went Liberty Fatboy. Also, think electronic lock, s big time saver and see if you can find a place that delivers free!!!

No it's ok. Upon further inspection I can determine that IS NOT a glass window. It's a super duper high strength clear polymer reinforced with carbon fiber and kevlar and coated in a thick layer of cat piss cuz I hear that even zombies can't stand the smell.

I definitley think you should always buy bigger than you think. It doesn't take long to fill one up and it sure doesn't when you have scopes on your rifles.

I think part of the reason for fewer pictures is the fact that not everyone wants what all they have seen.

Or you could buy a medium to large safe now that is a higher quality and when that one fills up you buy another one.

I'm all about buying a bigger safe than you need. The problem is if I move I really don't see this one coming with me. If I had bought the next smaller size I would still have room but it would have had a higher fire rating and I could take it when I go.

Just depends how much stuff you have, and how much you plan on having.

Look at Cannon, Fort Knox, Liberty and Summit.

My next one will probably be a Summit.

I agree if space is no option a secure room with a vault door and reinforced walls is the way to go. In Houston and it seems here in Vegas, basements are not something folks have, so windows are an issue that need to be addressed. If space is an issue, you need to get the biggest safe you can afford, as you will fill it up, and then ask yourself why you didn't get a bigger one. The main problem with really big safe's is they weigh a lot... and I mean a lot. Your foundation and house need to be able to handle the stress.

Sorry guys no pics of my Fort Knox safe. Its a security thing.

I only keep guns i LOVE. I dont want just any old crap in my collection. And i've never had a gun that "just sit there and collect dust." Thats just the way I am. And im not going to post a safe pic either. To me thats just asking for trouble.

There are bars on the window and its on the third floor of a very large house. The house has a very good alarm system and is quite secure. The door to the room is steel reinforced. Any safe can be broken into if given enough time...
