I haven't found anything I wanted to own at a gun show for quite some time, this one is out of the norm for me because it's a Winchester model 75. I own almost exclusively Remingtons, this is only the third Winchester in my collection. The guy that owned the rifle offered it to me for $300 plus four boxes of LC M2 ball ammo, the guy that had the scope offered it to me for $500. The rifle included the factory magazine and rear sight, the Unertl scope is a 14X and has both lens caps and the recoil spring. I can't wait to take it to the range.

After I bought this rifle three more guys walked by trying to sell Winchester 75's to me. I can't remember the last time I saw one at a show, this show four of them walked in.

You got a nice grab with that rifle. I have a Winchester 52C that looks almost identical to that one. Mine wears an R.A. Litschert scope, is that the same kind? It looks remarkable similar. He converted those scopes by hand for target shooting on rifles like those way back when.

The Unertl is similar to the Litschert/Davis scopes. Litschert also made a lot of power boosters for conventional scopes, I have a weaver 330C with a Litschert booster on it.

Your 52C sounds like a nice rifle, how about a picture? I think the C was the best of the 52's, that's why of the 3 Winchesters I own a C is one of them.

The C certainly has the best trigger out of any of the rifles in my safes. Well under a pound, and there is no perceptible movement when the trigger is pulled and only if you stare at it 3 or 4 times while you pull it do you realize it actually does move. You can't feel it break, it just does. Also, these types of rifles are <span style="font-weight: bold">HEAVY.</span> Bottom in the picture. The top is an old Remington model 6 take down that was my great grandfathers thats somewhere in the $400 range now a days. Just an old .22 hiding in the shadows of a safe now.

Those are both nice rifles, the 52 is a classic match rifle, I bet the Model 6 would be hoot to hunt squirrels with.

I have only ever hit one thing successfully with the crappy sights on the 6 and that was by accident. Its a neat little falling block action, and it can still shoot, but other than that you can't aim it. More like a shotgun with only one bullet.

Ive had the 52C out to about 150 yards and once punched a butterfly in the face with it that thought my target was tasty.

Very nice!

My Dad had a 75 when I was a kid. He bought it at an auction for nothing, with a barrel ringed near the muzzle. He cut it at about 20" and recrowned it. When he got it, it had one of those weaver side-mount bases on it for 3/4" scopes. He drilled and tapped it for a set of weaver bases, and mounted up a 1" 6x weaver.

I shot my first squirrel with it when I was 9 years old. When I was 13 or 14, he traded it and an old beat-down Marlin 336 30-30 for a NEF handi-rifle with .22 hornet, 20g and 45-70 barrels.

I try to keep a couple hundred bucks around, in case I run across it or his old Ruger MKI.

Never touched it. My dad put it on there about 20 years ago. I never use the sling anyway, I just use it to keep the rifle from begin scratched on the bench so it doesn't matter which way its pointing. But yes, normally its at the top, or however the buckle won't dig into your shoulder. Its probably a 15 lb rifle so thats an issue.

Thats what barrel mine. When I shot air rifle comps we would have stands that we would rest our rifles on between shots to spot and reload. But then again those rifles were pretty light. I would need a stand for mine no doubt.

Congratulations on the Winchester 75. Our club bought several of them in the 1960s. That's what they use for beginners in the small bore rifle classes. I shot one for 6 months. It was a wonderful rifle.

This is the group I shot with the rifle at 50 yards using a kneeling rool for a sandbag, the target is a 50" slow fire pistol target with a 3/4" 10 ring. It took me 4 shots to get it into the 10 ring, then I shot the last 8 rounds in the box of ammo (Wolf MT). The scope is not as clear as my other Unertls, indoors with gunshow lighting it looked great, outdoors in real sunlight it looks dusty inside. I will take it apart and clean some day soon.

I know this is an old post, but I recently aquired a 330C with a 6 Litschert screwed on the end. The lense has some small issues, but is relatively clear. To fit in the veticle split rings on the 03a4 the bell and lockring had to come off. Nothing fell out, but I am having issues try to adjust it. Ironsights in Tulsa said I screwed it up and wants around 200 to fix it, but no parts came out, it was just like a jeweler's loupe. Any tips? I know it wasn't TOE, and not legal for competition, but I know it is period correct, and maybe someone who shot competition may have had it done to theirs to carry over there. The rules were a lot looser about stuff from home back then. The finish on the scope goes all the way so it is not a Bubba job. Thank you for any help I may get. What did you have yours on? This is on a Gibbs Clone, and it looks better than the Hi-Lux repop.

I will be honest, that was long enough ago I do not remember the scope. I have so many of the, most are not mounted on rifles. If you can upload some pictures I might be able to help you figure out what is wrong. Maybe send them to me in a PM.
