Hi I live in south central Kentucky and I'm looking for a good gunsmith to build a precision bolt gun from a old Remington 700 sa I've got. Looking for someone within the southern KY northern TN area. Planning to chamber in 6.5cm or 308 win. Chassis or a manners t4. Any recommendations appreciated.

Just a thought but you might be money ahead to buy a custom action. The Bighorn origin runs $825. The downfall to the origin is that it's not available until late summer. If you need the rifle soon I would recommend longriflesinc they would have the best turn around time.

Thanks guys. I'm not in a big hurry to build my 700 action trying to finish a gas gun build right now but as soon as I'm done with it the 700 is next. Checking out LRI's website now looks like very good craftsmanship. Another question has anyone used southern precision rifles out of cookville TN.

Greg at Southern Precision would be my choice if looking in that area. Hell, he’d be towards the top of any list regardless of area. He does very good work and is highly respected here on the Hide.

3.7.18 posted. 3.14.18 today. With what your asking, and assuming we had the stock in hand, we'd of been done already. Just an FYI.

I believe Randy Landon of Landtec SWS (based in London KY) is out of the game now, but if he's not I'd give that man a call for a Remington 700!
