Guys check this out. SCAR 16/17?

Sorry I know this is the semi auto section but I cant find class 3 or select fire section. Do we have one? It was my understanding that civilians could only own class 3 select firearms with a $200 tax stamp and the weapon had to be manufactured before 1986. I just got off the phone with a class 3 dealer here in TN called GT Distributers and I asked 3 times if I a civilian could purchase a fully automatic SCAR 16 or 17 so long as I also purchased the tax stamp. They said yes! Does this sound right to any of you?

Your understanding is correct. You as a civilian cannot purchase or own a select fire weapon manufactured after 1986. There's a GT Distributors located near me, and they cater to LEO. They sell class 3 stuff, but clearly they only sell machine guns to law enforcement. It seems the one by you in TN hires the same kind of dummies that the one here does. It's a nice store with GREAT prices, but I've been told some stupid things by uninformed sales people there. Perhaps you should notify a manager?

Whomever you spoke with on the phone that told you that is either a complete idiot OR has no @#$%^& idea what the hell they are talking about OR wants a fast-track, 1-way ticket to a federal correctional institution of the BOP's chosing for both YOU and THEM if they try to sell you, a private citizen, any select-fire firearm manufactured after 1986!!

You can <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">NOT</span></span></span> do it without you and the dealer engaging in a federal felony.

Ya that is what I thought.What about if your LE or Military? Can you purchase any modern class 3 weapon you want and keep it?

The answer is NO. Unless you are a purchasing agent for mil/LEO departments, you cannot get a full auto weapon.

I'm not really sure that you'd actually be <span style="font-style: italic">able</span> to commit a felony, since NFA branch would probably just laugh at the Form 4 and Return To Sender marked "ID-10T Error".

Federal felony's are the worst kind


The pre 1986 law is bunk and should be abolished that little puke Charles Rangel forced it into the bill. But thats a whole other argument that could be seen a political so I'll just zip my lip right here if you want to find out more Google is your friend.
