How do I find out? It doesn't even say on the site when you go to look at the stocks. Maybe it's on their main page or something. I haven't seen anything... Or noticed.

Re: H-S Precision stocks

They all have aluminum bedding blocks and are free floating. Of course it depends on how heavy your barrel is, but I can't imagine you'd have a barrel heavy enough to fill the barrel channel and contact the stock.

Re: H-S Precision stocks

I have a few HS stocks on my Savages. They have plenty of room, even on the LRPV model with a large shank bull barrel. And yes to the aluminum bedding block. Its not a V-block design like the Choates but a curved bed that almost fits the action. Still need to skim bed for the perfect fit and to straighten the action if it sits a little off center or points the barrel left or right.

Anybody have any idea how that would compare with the shank on a Varmint contour Rock barrel ?
I'm getting a 27" blank finished at 26", so just about all of the cylinder will still be there. I was expecting to have to do some work on the barrel channel to get it to fit.

Re: H-S Precision stocks

They all say BDL on them but I have a remmy ADL... Does that mean that I'm going to have to convert mine to BDL? And can I convert it to allow me to use an actual detatchable magazine?

Re: H-S Precision stocks

ADL and BDL guns are the same. The stock is what is different. If you want to change to BDL you need stock with BDL cut out the metal box that goe in the stock and the BDL floor plate. Same thing if you want to go mag fed. No problem.

Ok. So if I buy a new BDL stock all ill need to buy if I want a detatchable mag is just to buy the detatchable mag kit right?
