H4350 seems to be a favorite here for 260 loads. In the reloading manuals IMR4350 is favored. So is there any real difference other then the slightly different burn rates? Getting either is a bit of a challenge these days so two choices might help.

I was told by a gun shop owner on Tuesday that now that the same company owns and produces both brands that they a 100% interchangeable. Right down to the comment that they stop the run half way through and just put in a different label pack and continue on. I did not "buy" it or buy it but it made me think. On Hodgdons website, they do not list much load data for the IMR 4350. Anyone else hear this recently?

Absolute Bullshit! You can look at the two, side by side and a three year old could tell you that they are different powders. Wow!

This. H4350 has excellent temp stability, but IMR4350 has piss poor temp stability (relatively speaking). AA4350 is somewhere between them. They're all different and by no means directly interchangeable.

Correct, IMR powder is manufactured in CANADA. H-4350 os manufactured in AUSTRALIA by ADI (Australian Defense Industries) Two completely DIFFERENT powders manufactured in DIFFERENT manufacturing facilities that have close to the same burning rate. That gunshop owner is wrong and should be kicked in the nards for spreading bullshit!

The only correct thing is the IMR brand, Winchester brand and Hodgdon brands of powders are all SOLD/MARKETED/ PACKAGED by Hodgdon.

I use H-4350 mostly in my 260 and it shoots great! However, I also use H-4831sc and it also works very well. If fact, I just use some in my 6 Creedmoor and shot well in a tactical match with it today. It's not as fast as H-4350, but it will get the job done with a few more grains.

Try N150 or N160 you'll be happier and get better barrel life as they are cooler burning, also more consistent as VV makes their own nitrocellulose whereas the other manufactures buy theirs.
