Didn't like Varget for light bullets. H335 was a 25 grain load, Varget was a 27 grain load. 27 grains of Varget fills the case neck. Other than that it works okay but there are better light bullets available.

H4895 is more energetic than Varget, so it doesn't fill the case so much like Varget does.
H4895 is ideal in 223 for bullets between 55 and 77gr. For the 80s and 90s, Varget is slightly superior, though h4895 works nice there too.
Varget is not ideal for the sub-69s, but works "OK".
If I could choose just one 223 powder for all around use, it would be H4895.
If I could only choose two rifle powders to EVER use again, it would be H4895 and H4350.

Thank goodness we are not limited to 2, but those would be at the top of my list too (to many 2's?). H4895 works very well for me in your application.

Thank goodness we are not limited to 2, but those would be at the top of my list too (to many 2's?). H4895 works very well for me in your application.

I've been testing H4895 and Varget with 75 HPBT and 77 SMK in my Noveske. I can't pick a better shooting load of the 4 combos. They all pretty much shoot equally.

Just throwin this out there but benchmark works quite well with 55grainers

Neither. Try H335 or H322 with 55 gr pills. Burns really clean in ar's

I have a pretty decent 60 v-max load for yotes with H4895.
Give it a shot, another thing, H4895 is one of the more temp stable powders I have used
