Take, for example, the HPD fuckup.
Officer Goines, Officer Bryant, and an unknown number of other officers conspired to fabricate evidence in order to obtain a no-knock search warrant on a home inhabited by a man, woman, and a dog.
They were successful in this endeavor, and committed department resources to raiding the home.
They raided the home, some officers shot some other officers, Goines got fucked up, the two home owners AND their dog were executed, and what happened next?
The chief, the police union fucktard, AND the fucking cocksucker of a mayor got on TV the next day telling us WE need to surrender OUR weapons.
That's not one guy fucking up, or even two or three, of even a dozen, or a hundred. That's the WHOLE FUCKING GOVERNMENT fucking up and running with it.
Then, when you look into Officer Goines and Officer Bryant, or anyone else publicly involved, for that matter, you see a long train of abuses and usurpations pursuing, invariably, the same object.
This is but one of many such incidences I've researched, but it is recent and occurred not 10 minutes from my doorstep.
Would I say everyone in HPD is a criminal? No.
Would I say everyone in leadership in HPD is a criminal? No.
Would I say everyone employed by the city of Houston is a criminal? No.
Would I say there's an issue with corruption in the city of Houston? Yes.
Would I say the good people employed by the city of Houston are complicit in the actions of the corrupt folks they work with? Yes, if they knew some fuckery was afoot but said and did nothing.
This has nothing to do with race, gender, or sexuality. This has everything to do with duty, compassion, honor, and integrity.

Not all cops are a bad. Hell, probably most are still good, but that don't mean shit when an Officer Goines can run around doing whatever-the-damn-hell he feels like doing without consequence. I'm actually pretty curious what the story would look like today if Goines didn't get his face shot and had been better able to craft a narrative after the fact.
