Sunday I went to my second egg shoot at woodcock rifle range in North Dartmouth MA. My first shoot I was using remington 55gr 223 and hit 13 eggs with 30 rounds. This time I had my reloads and hit 15 eggs with 17 rounds. I took 6th place out of the 24 people that were in my class. I was shooting off 2 home made sand bags under the front of the rifle. I would like to get one of the nice rifle rest like everyone else had for the next shoot and see if i can get 15/15. But the reloads win hands down.

Try FGMM 69s. Then see if your reloads are at this level. If they are, your reloading regimen is golden.

Granted I have only been reloading for a couple of months, but my reloads have not yet come close to FGMM, 308, 168 for grouping or consistancy!! But I am still looking for the magic.

it's not magic at all; it's consistency and being methodical in your approach. You can do it and remember you are not re-creating the wheel, you are using practices that have been refined over years by a huge community.

Try following the OCW load development system found here and I am sure you will be making great loads in no time. http://optimalchargeweight.embarqspace.com/
