Love the TSO!

I had a choice to make. I could have spent my money on expensive hookers, bonded bourbon and fine cigars. Instead I got this. You won't find me wasting my money.

BTW, do you realize how much money one can save to purchase ammunition and other firearms related accouterments by eschewing modern luxuries like showering, shaving and doing laundry?

Let's see the groups....

This is supposed to either be "better" or "second best" to that depending on who you talk to.

Change of plans… I made it to the range today. The first photo are of targets used for sight adjustment. I don’t know what happened on the third one so it must have been me. BTW those sightin targets were shot from the bench.

This next photo is off hand on both targets. I shot the left one with one hand; one group right handed and the other with the left. The right target was shot two-handed. I forgot to add that all shooting was done from 50 feet with the cheap Federal aluminum cased

This could be me but I felt that there was a lot of take up in the first stage of the trigger. When that “wall” was felt it broke clean and crisp. I didn’t measure the pull weight but it’s just right. Except for the long take up it’s one of the best triggers that I’ve vet felt. Some friends that handle the pistol liked the trigger as well.

There are better pistoleros out there than me that I’m sure could get better groups.

The next time that I’m in a temperate, non-smoking mood and don’t feel like getting raped and ravaged by brazen whores, I’ll spend the money on the carry version of this pistol.

I found a new use for paintballs. I used to use hot glue to affix them to the paper but with too much the balls melt and too little they fall off. So I taped them with scotch tape.

Here’s the “before” photo.

Here is the “after” photo from 25 yards benched with my buckmark.

Then I did the same thing from 10 yards offhand with an iron sighted buckmark. BTW you always want to shoot the lowest row first because the paint will run.

My 952 results at 13 yards........50 COM and 50 COH. Unsure if I adjusted my sights right after that shoot.

The 952 has a real light trigger. I doubled it a couple times not being disciplined in keeping it pinned back.

Im no pistolero by any means but the 952 shoots great.

Even better is the 52-2

Same indoor range 13 yards...50 rounds loaded 5 at a time - the only way a .38, 148 HBWC was intended by God to be shot.

A 52-2 is a magical gun if it can make me shoot like that. Good shooters would cause a bend in the time warp contiuum and the stacked lead would become a nuclear pile that would destroy the world.....so only trolls like me should be allowed to ever shoot one.

The shooting of a 52-2 can only be described as "It coughs to clear its throat and a hole in the X ring appears".

One of my best friends has 52-2 he got from his grandfather that is just an absolute joy to shoot. The only trouble is going back to an "average" pistol like my tuned 1911. They are on a whole different level!

@pmclaine @Longshot231 very cool target pistols. Think I’d have to take the Sig over the 952, but that 52-2 is a dream gun. Would give a lung or 2 for that thing..
On the 952, do you see any accuracy difference between supersonic vs subs?

Traded the xD for something a little nicer IMO. Any recommendations for a red dot to go with it?

Was able to sight in my Holosun 509T on Friday. First impressions are good and I may actually like it better than both of my previous RMRs.

While researching my own red dot options I read lots of positive things about the Holosun.

Though not the exact same thing I shot a class yesterday with a TA-33 ACOG sporting a horseshoe reticle.

I could see the advantages of that style dot within a ring in close with pistol.

My rampant nationalism dismissed it as an option though so I went with bomb proof reliability and kind of a ruptured anus looking dot.

Holosun gets my vote.

I’m the same way, I’ve been told (complement to me) that I have toxic patriotism. That said, there are no mini red dots on the market that can compete with the feature set the 509T has. The Acro P-2 comes closest (and only competition), but it lacks a solar backup panel.

The 509T can run daylight bright with no battery (in the sunlight obviously). What other enclosed MRDS can do that? None.

The Acro P-2 would be my second option for sure, but even it is made in a socialist country, they just happen to not be a huge enemy of ours.

The USA girl named Trijicon is sitting her their butt not innovating and competing with the newer optics for pistols. Sure the RMR is incredibly reliable, but so are the 509T and Acro P-2.

I think Trijicon must have hired all of the former Leupold executives from ten years ago. You would think that any American optic manufacturer would use Leupold as an example to avoid, not follow.

Red dots, thermals, general day optics...almost zero innovation in the last five years (maybe UTC is it).

I can't get over how shitty the Holosun circle/dot reticle is, no matter which combination I have on.

I personally do not see a huge difference. Perhaps if I could compare them side by side. So far it hasn’t impeded shooting ability for me.

The difference between a 507C on day 1 of a Mason Lane class and an SRO on day 2 of same (with the same pistol) was remarkable and it had nothing do with with the lens size.

Custom Richard Heinie titanium frame commander in 9x23. Holster made by a guy named Red Nichols, who designed a lot of the old school holsters for John Bianchi. Kind of an odd dude, spent the last many years in Australia making holsters for guns he wasn't allowed to own using only his own custom molds. I think he finally quit a year or so ago. It's a very fast holster.
Damn nice
What loads you running? 9x23 is a beast of a round

Alright, I think I understand the logic in taping the front of the window, and the line of sight from your non dominant eye showing the dot superimposed on the target. That would help with your presentation and push you to target focus with both eyes open and away from front sight focus.

Now that that’s been said, what purpose (other than acting as a lens cover) does tape behind the emitter serve? Are you not completely obscuring both your primary AND secondary sighting systems?

Look up a red dot made by Armson called the OEG. I'm not sure if they came up with the original, but red dots back in the day used to be "occluded." Think time frame around SAS and the Iranian Embassy stuff. I've shot with them off an AR pattern rifle and they work fine for VFR indoor stuff.

What @lowspeed_highdrag was saying is that if you present the pistol well using refined muscle memory, you don't really need to focus on the sites at all, instead keeping your eyes on the center mass of the target. Hits are easy to reasonable distances. Having you irons "occluded" makes no difference in this scenario.

The importance and prestige placed on having cool suppressor height, co-witnessed backup irons is overblown. In 20 years of war, I have only heard of and seen pics of a handful of optics going down during a fight. The percentage chance of this happening to a non race gunner is so infinitesimally small, its kind of dumb to chase this 0.0001% (made up statistic) with overthought and money.
