Dan Wesson Guardian - 45 ACP. This thing is handheld rifle! The knife is a vintage Spyderco Delica from the early 90's. Served me well but all worn out now. Ammo is Asym 185 grain +P solids.
And the Andromeda Galaxy from my backyard. 2.5 million light years away. So you are seeing what it looked like 2.5 million years ago, give or take 10 years. Shot over 2-nights worth of exposures. There are two other galaxies in the image, the two bright blobs close to Andromeda. The lower one is being sucked in and will disappear If it hasn't already. I posted this at 3840 pixels across so you can magnify it if you really want to see the detail captured. It's worth it.

Too low on the horizon at my location so no joy. That leads to major atmospheric distortion and planets need a huge amount of magnification, which makes distortion that much worse. Below are Saturn and Jupiter, in some of the best conditions that I ever shot them at. I could only manage 640 pixel images with all the magnification I could muster on my 11-inch telescope. Planets are tiny from our earthly POV. That's why they look like stars!

This is one handgun that deserves attention.
Kinda silly........... 700 grain @ 1200 fps... anyone with quick load 27.0 gr of lilgun. Bullet 1.375 long and loaded length 2.305. What’s it say for pressure? Feels like catching a base ball bat, a steady diet would loosen up even the big x frame.

German-production H&K HK45 I bought new back in 2008... One of the last ones imported to Trussville, AL.
Finding a real German-production HK45 Tactical 16x1 LH threaded barrel was not cheap... Note the “DE” (Deutschland) designation stamped on the barrel. But if you’re gonna do it...Do it right. No point in half-assing a piece like this.

I’ve had my 2008 Kimber Pro TLE/RL II since early 2009. Bought it brand new from an archery shop I used to do business with, that also has a small gun selection. Traded off one of my old competition bows for it. Been a great gun. It’s logged many miles protecting my ass (note the wear on the frame & slide).
I bought my Kimber .22LR conversion for it around 2010/2011, and never really used it but a couple of times. After ordering my Dead Air Mask HD, I wanted to find a threaded barrel, but nobody made one. Everyone wanted you to send them your original barrel, and they modify it, add an extension, etc... I wasn’t digging that option. I finally found a company called Pike Arms that does make complete 1-piece drop-in threaded barrels for the Kimber 5” .22LR conversions. It works like a charm! SUPER high-quality! I highly recommend, if you have a Kimber 1911 .22 conversion and want to run a suppressor on it.
Next will be finding someone to make me a threaded bull barrel for my .45 slide for this pistol. Anyone got any recommendations?

First post. Recently purchased my first ever glock. Have always had Sig's, but I'm now sold on this platform. EDC/range gun.
Yeah, it ultimately checked more boxes for my needs than the CZ. Size, weight, and decocker. The decocker on the CZ’s is clockwise which is counter intuitive from a handling standpoint. The Beretta is counter-clockwise.
The Shadow 2 has a better single action, but I preferred the double action and reset on the Wilson. Mine is the standard Wilson, I handled two Wilson Custom Shop 92’s, and the single action on those were comparable to the Shadow 2. May send it to the custom shop down the road.

Blended slide/frame/ejector/extractor, just needed to polish
Wilson beavertail, rounded msh, and wilson carry safety. A lot of metal work, but they feel perfect
Undercut triggerguard and under mag release a good amount
Tigged up front sight tenon, then blended slide radius back in. Fit egw melt bushing and tapered nose slightly for reholstering and dehorned sharp edges of slide
There wasn't any magwell bevel at all, so I checked that box
Had my Smith cut dovetails and bead blast everything. Black cherry g10 grips came in to round it out. I had some ejection issues, occasionally get brass to face, so ended up lowering ejection port. Also polished slide flats after that.

It certainly is! Shooting 265 grain not +P Grizzly and others @ ~1000FPS it's a pussycat

Learned how to fit parts for a 1911/2011 on this build. Most everything needed fitting. Learned a lot.
Also learned how to cerakote. Isn’t a great job but I’m happy with it and learned a lot more on my son’s rifle.

Walther PPQ navy, with an RMR, night sights and a TLR. And some speckles of Kilz primer.
L&M Precision Machine milled it for me before the Q4 was a thing.
Also my EDC, which is surprisingly easy to carry for how ridiculous it looks laid out.

MAN that is soooooooo hot. I was looking for one HARD but ended up with the M45A2 instead! It is not even in the same class in my opinion!!!
Been jonesing for a new pistol and thinking about an Officers model for a while so I bit the bullet and put in an order for a Nighthawk Counselor. I think it will be a great companion!

This lightweight 9mm Colt Combat Commander originally belonged to my father. He purchased it in the late 60’s and it was one of the guns he used to teach me to shoot. In his retirement, he traded it for a golf cart. After his passing, it was returned to me nonfunctional. Jason Burton of Heirloom Precision restored and modernized it a couple of years ago. It now functions flawlessly and eats whatever I feed it. Thank you Jason for returning a piece of my father too me and, in the process, creating a true “heirloom.”

Altho I can excuse it this time due to the weapons age, sentimental value, and downright gorgeousness(!!!)... any good, high end, beautiful non-.45 ACP 1911 should be chambered in a proper round: the .38 Super/Super Comp, 9x23 Win., .45 Super, or .460 Rowland.
JMO tho.. and the standard old 9x19 has made some pretty serious strides in recent years what with all the competition guys pushing 9x19 far past what we thought was possible not long ago, nearly catching up to .38 Super. Idk, I'm just of the opinion that if the platform can handle that extra bit of velociity/energy from a more powerful round, why not take it?(Spoken by a dude who owns a 9x19mm

I just picked up my Service Grade CMP 1911. Remington Rand slide on a Colt frame. It’s cleaner than I expected it to be.

1) The PVD slide finish is gorgeous
2) Really digging the new grip texture
3) Trigger is improved over the standard 509 but still feels a bit "meh". We'll see what happens after some useless-work-teleconference dry-fire sessions.
4) The aluminum mag base pads are a nice touch.

My gun shop rescue Wilson xtac ... found the poor thing beat to shit at my local shop. Rescued for $1,000 and sent back to Wilson for full refinish. Looks better than new.
