Needing to pick up a new hard case. Of course the usual suspects of Pelican, Storm Case and SKB. I know Pelican bought out Hardigg since I bought my last one. Any preferences between them? I kind of prefer the metal latches SKB puts on the R2 and R3 series, but their case is also a bit narrower as well. I was looking for a starlight case, but it looks like they are out of business or at least nobody has them available.

I have 3 pelican rifle, 1skb rifle and 2 gun cruzers in pelicans for pistols.

my main issue is the smaller lock holes on the skb And they require longer shackles. So check what each needs. Get ready to go buy specific locks to fit each.

Pelican Storm and Hardig are the same company now.

You missed a huge sale earlier in the year pelican 2 gun case with soft case insert for like $200. Retailed for like $500.

What are you looking to put in there. Long Bolt gun, broken down AR's ect?

Hard cases are cool for air travel but are just too big and bulky for taking to range or hunting. Soft cases like Armegedon gear are just so much easier to use and provide just as much if not more protection.

I have a couple aluminum ones from Ziegel Engineering when I needed to fly with guns. Some versions have dual Ace locks.
Although once at the Olympic Trials I saw an aluminum case that was twisted about 90 degrees by an airline!
