Harden feed lips

I have been trying to get my accurate mag to feed all 5 with my origin and 6 creed. I think I narrowed it down to a worn follower on step. In the process of messing with it too much I feel the steel has softened. Is there a way to harden the feed lips by hot and cold? Will a torch and quench penetrate more than just the surface?

Also if anyone has dimensions that work for them on 6 creed and origin

What has caused you to conclude that the feed lips have gotten soft?

Show them a porno. If that doesn't work get a blue pill. Careful tho -- if feed lips are hard for longer than 4hrs consult MD immediately.

soft lips is not a bad thing when feeding but this is steel and completely different.

The lips just seem soft after molesting them a little too much.

Well they bend easier than before and when I have a mag loaded in the rifle and remove it the rounds look like they lifted more than previous

I'm pretty sure you can't make steel softer by working it, only harder. Are you sure you didn't start a crack in the feed lip(s)?

Ok that makes sense. There’s no crack it must have been the way I bent it. Back to the drawing board. I think I’ll wait for the new follower before I mess with it more. Thanks
