So I have been using a Harris 6-9 BRMS for years on multiple platforms and have found it is not only too short completely collapsed but also too short when fully extended. So as time went by I decided to buy a 9-13 Harris SLM and give the height a shot. I found I would carry both to ranges and comps and would switch between the two but it was extra gear to lug around so I got to thinking if I never used the shortest possible on the 6-9 and never used the tallest on the 9-13 then where was the middle road. SO.... I made one! I now have a swivel, notched leg 7-12 Harris!!

I guess I could have bought the Atlas but for my purposes I would rather stick with Harris's.

Harris makes the 9-13 with a fairly short center leg section with 0.92" clearance up top before it would hit the bushing that the leg attachment screw goes through. I just chopped the tube down and redrilled the holes. I did not have to modify or even remove the center notched leg shafts. However their is one problem... The tension springs require the spring perches up top and the spring to be shortened so the tension remains. I happened to have a broken 6-9 BRMS so I took the spring perches up top and transfered them and used the short 6-9 springs and notched the tube for the lower spring attachment. If I did not have the extra parts I would like to find a way to modify the long spring without it breaking (put pliers on it and the hook portion snapped at about 15 degrees of bend).

I used it in a Sniper Competition today and took third! I banged it around ALOT and the spring notches kept the spring attachments in place (I also had another 6-9 on standby in case something broke). Also the distant targets were all uphill 10 degrees so the length was perfect.
