Guys,
I have had this idea (I'm sure someone else has already done this) but I finally decided to do it in my never ending persuit of building a better mouse trap.
I wanted my bipod to hook up directly to the quad rail without any adapter.
I have tried Phoenix Tac. DLOC, Larue, and YHM. Of those 3 the DLOC is the slickest and I still run one of those on my Iron Ridge 308.
But, I wanted something easier.
So I have some flush cup swivel QD's.
I took out the swivel and relieved the QD as seen here:
Next I had to relieve the base on the Harris as seen:
I had to go back and open up the hole I made for the entire clip/QD to basically recess into the bipod.
Here it is mounted to a new Seekins Quad rail via QD
Now it can't be reliesed by the QD without a small screw drive.
But this is simple and mounts the bipod very low in it's origional location directly to the quad rail.
I had to free hand the relief part with my die grinder so your milage may vary.
FWIW: rifle is still under contruction.
Disclaimer: Use PPE when doing this D.I.Y. project, you are responsible for your own safety......NOT ME.
