My rifle just got returned from Hart. It is a 308. The barrel is stamped .342 Neck. I know this must tell me somthing about the neck size for the neck on the ammo, but I do not know what it is telling me to do?

Also I have the VSL 308 take off barrel. Low round count. didn't shoot very well. What would a fair price be for it?

jason nailed it.........when i used ahart for my builds, I had tem do 340 Necks........no issues.
342 is std for Chandlers, and likely others.

Not much, slap it in the FS section, and maybe you can get $50./$75.00 for it.

Re: Hart rifle barrel with .342 neck?

Thanks for the replies. I requested a chamber that would be ok for factory or my handloads, I just didn't know how it was designated. This is my first build and if it shoots as good as it looks I'll be very happy.

It will...............mine would hold at/ under 1/4moa @500yds- 3 shots, handloads, IF I did my part.........not often I did that though..........

Re: Hart rifle barrel with .342 neck?

If it will consistently shoot 1/2 MOA at 100 and hold 1 MOA out to 600 I'll be happy. I hope it does one hole groups, but I have to be realistic. Two Shoes, its good to see one of the old members still here. I don't spend much time on the computer these days, but it's good to know that I can still come here and get good information,
