Re: Has anybody heard of Barska optics

Cause see im am lookin for a new scope that is going to get me more up close and personnal tht what i have now without spending my life saving. What i mean by that is i hunt alot of hilines on my deer lease and want them to appear closer. So any suggestions would help.

Re: Has anybody heard of Barska optics

Had a 6-24 I got on a gun trade. Springs were broke wouldn't hold a zero. Send it to the factory they sent me a new one and I sold it. Optics glass is fuzzy and the overall feel is cheap. I made a vow to myself I'd never buy another. Remember if it's a 8-32 it should be over $600 at least. Just my .02 buy quality not magnification

Re: Has anybody heard of Barska optics

I heard that but Im also lookin for a scope that comes with a sun shade because im not sure if i can get one for the scope i have at this time unless there is some way of doing that?????

Re: Has anybody heard of Barska optics

I haven't looked through their scopes, but I contemplated buying a pair of their 10x42 binos...until I looked through them at the Cabela's Store. The glass was absolutely horrible.

Re: Has anybody heard of Barska optics

I have their Red Dot mounted on a Ruger 10/22. It's not bad - but I'm concerned about its reliability, even with such a small recoil.

I also have Barska spotting scope - and the optics isn't very bright.

You'd probably be better off buying a decent scope and springing for a sun shade yourself!

Re: Has anybody heard of Barska optics

I heard Barska's are almost as good as the Countersniper.

Seriously, pony up the 3 bills for a nikon buckmaster 4.5-14, I have a Millet TRS-1 that I am very pleased with, though others have not been pleased with thiers. I also have a Mueller Tac-2 3-10 that is an excellent scope and can be had for about 270, you can make long shots with ten power, providing the glass is good, which it is in the tac 2.
Another option is the Vortex diamondback series.

Re: Has anybody heard of Barska optics

Buy a sightron or a vortex, its not fun spending money when your budget is slim, but its a helluva lot better when you only have to spend it once

SERIOUSLY though, all those scopes that look too good to be true (IE;Barfska,BSA,NcStar,ECT...) ARE!

Hope I could help,

Steve

Re: Has anybody heard of Barska optics

I tryed one some years back on one of my 22's . Royal P.O.S. ! Looked really good but seamed everytime I went to shoot it it was not zeroed . I could get it zeroed and change power up or down and P.O.I. would change . Got so frustrated trying to make a no end scope perform like a high end scope I finally took it of an threw it in the trash. Be warned they are not what they seam to be.

Do some looking around this site . There's tons of information here. Spend some time reading up on different scopes that are recommended. You can have a nice one with out spending thousands .

Re: Has anybody heard of Barska optics

Just ordered 5 of the Vortex last friday(3 for myself & 2 for a friend) & went to order another yesterday and they were sold out. It says that back orders are accepted with a delivery date of April/May. I thought they were discountinued, so i dont know if they will be available or not. Well atleast i got 3 of them. A friend of mine has 4 of them & they seem to be a great scope for the money and if they become available i will purchase a few more.

Oh and by the way stay away from the Barska's, they're not kidding when they call them junk! Been there done that on a 10/22 build. A total waste of money.

how do you like the rings? thats the only negative ive heard so far was they were way too high

Re: Has anybody heard of Barska optics

The Millett TRS-1 is a 30mm tube. The LRS-1 is a 35mm tube and comes with 35mm rings. Its also HUGE! (56mm obj. and 18" long, over 22" with shade) It also weighs in @ about 2.5 lbs. I'm not saying that it isn't a good scope, it just might be a little cumbersome for a hunting scope. I bought the TRS-1, paid just under $300, and I'm happy with it so far. The TRS is a 4-16 power. If youre looking for more power, the Buck Gold is available in a 6-25x56 with a 30mm tube for about $380.
