Maybe it's just my luck, but the last few months it seems as though FX has been really screwing the pooch. For several months now, they say they are going to deliver on one day, cancel, then deliver on another day ( it's not due to weather). I called the local delivery hub on one recent screw up, the delivery date showed the item was on the truck. It got delivered the following day. When asked why, the hub woman said that the item was not even put on the truck. She couldn't explain why this is happening so frequently.
Are you guys getting this same treatment with FX? I try to patronize them since they haven't caved to blm yet, unlike ups. It just seems like a lesson in frustration.

I had that same issue with UPS last year. They were scanning packages as “out for delivery” multiple times when they were not loaded on the truck. They had too many packages to fit on the truck but they still scanned them because they were in a pile to be loaded. Stupid practice and frustrating.

had a sig req, no redirect, shipment w FedEx and they said they’d deliver on a day I was to be out of my home. So, I paid for a 5-8 pm delivery.
Not only did they not deliver, they came the next day at 2pm and I’m standing in my open garage at my benches and the driver said “oh, I can’t give it to you because it’s not to be delivered until 5-8pm!!
got his manager on the phone and w a lot of persuasion (along the lines of “but I’m standing right here next to your truck” and he relented and allowed the driver to del my ammo.
Used to be a great company, not anymore.

i shipped some ammo via fedex a few weeks ago. handed it to the driver as he was dropping off a pkg for me. a week later i get an email saying they're charging me another 3 or 4 bucks, it said to read their policies for more info. i mean, wtf, if they're going to charge me more than they agreed to, can't they at least spell out what changed to increase their fee?

and yeah when i get shipping notices from fedex, it seems like they key off the shipping date on the label when it's created, before they even get the pkg. then all of a sudden the expected deliv date is a few days later.

FedEx Ground is a mixed bag. There are different divisions of FedEx. Freight seems to be somewhat better in places and way worse in others, like Ground. Same situation with Express. Whenever I order something from BowlingBall[dot]com, my order always arrives 3 days BEFORE the projected day. I refuse to order anything from Amazon. Their delivery drivers are hot garbage. UPS isn't that bad..........yet.

Luckily I'm usually not in a hurry to get it, but when the tracking # goes dark, I get a bit concerned. It usually shows up later than sooner. But I get the package so that's the good thing. LOL

My fedex guy is older (50s?) and is great! Ups guy is younger (30s) and is on his phone every time, BUT is also a great guy. Both talk with me and are very accommodating. With ups, if I have a signature required package that I won’t be home for, I have the item to be picked up at the distribution center - not that far from me. FedEx guy just leaves stuff even if signature required!
I agree the nearest day or so is normal but compared to usps I’m ok with that. I have two packages that shipped a few weeks ago still not here. A relatives wedding invitations mailed more than a month ago for a wedding last weekend still aren’t delivered!

Fedex drivers, contracted in Penske and Ryder trucks have backed into my rock wall twice at the house in 3 months. 3' high solid mortared rock wall. First time took forever to get my money....second time I installed cameras and sent them a video. They are always 2 days off on the date tracking says packages will be here and leave shit in a different obscure place every time. UPS here is great. Local driver same one for many years. Signs my packages for me...leaves stuff under shelter etc.

No calls - again - but at least this time a truck showed about 4.

I suppose they're no different than any other business these days - hard to find good help . . .

We get packages here at home from both UPS and FedEx. Here in Gods country 16 miles south of DC is not rural but not in the city. I get and send packages/pouches for my business and the misses keeps everybody’s delivery drivers busy. But gotta say, for us here, UPS is head and shoulders above FedEx. UPS deliveries are 98-99% on time and the driver will frequently put packages/pouches against the house if it’s raining. The FedEx guys slow down enough to hurl the package out the door hoping to score a hit on the sidewalk near the door. Well maybe not always but I was witness to a flying package come out of a FedEx truck a couple of years ago. It was on time so kudos for that.

UPS Freight was bought out by a Canadian firm. That might be the issue with them. However, UPS Freight have had a notorious reputation for being absolute horse shit. UPS Freight came to be when UPS panic purchased Overnight after FedEx announced the start of their freight division over a decade and a half ago.

UPS, as a whole, is slipping to the wayside after changing CEOs. David Abney stepped down a little bit ago and was replaced with Carol B Tomé. Abney is now on the Board of Directors at Northrup Grumman. He also holds a position at UPS as Executive Chairman.

USPS is to be avoided as much as possible. I had a package sent from Kadena, by my brother. It took over 2 months to get to me. It was hung up at Customs in NYC for a little bit and then sat inside of a trailer at the local USPS station until it was finally unloaded and put on a truck. Some of the contents was Japanese beer. I'm not a beer drinker. I still tried them and was impressed with their flavor. Way better than American piss water.

UPS, FEDEX and USPS...interchangeable; trucks look different. Ordered a batch of bullets shipped USPS flat rate. Get a sticky note, "Undeliverable, Overweight Package." Double check the math...nope, contents 61 lbs. No way the box weighs eight lbs. Reschedule delivery, get another sticky.

Report to the PO and ask why, clerk says overweight, I say weigh it. Plops it on the scale and, "Hmm, 66 lbs. Well, we have some pretty sorry employees." I don't think he expected my response of, "You're overestimating them."

Where I really seem to notice the difference is the franchisee wing of Fedex. These mom and pop operations have been a constant source of f'ups for years. The drivers are a bunch of young retards. The regular drivers that are unionized seem to be more professional, but even that is deteriorating.

Burris sent me a Fed-ex 2 day label to send them a scope. I live 237 miles away from Greeley. As soon as it was in their system it had a delivery exemption on it. It took them over a week to get it there. I contacted Burris and sent them the tracking info and noted my problems with fed-ex, and they actually listened and sent my scope back through a different shipper.

Add to the cluster the gov paying people to not work through extended unemployment benefits and stimulus checks makes it harder to fill vacancies. You think the contract package delivery drivers are bad? I deal with the contract linehaul drivers on a nightly basis. I am also one but consider myself conscientious, courteous, polite, have a clean driving record, and my CSA score remains at 0. Been driving trucks for 16 years now. The contractor I work for has hiring standards and would rather have an empty truck over hiring some massive retard who can barely tie their own shoes; let alone drive. I don't have patience for stupidity and dealing with stupid people. In trucking, one will be successful as long as they have common sense, good judgement, and patience. A ton of drivers out there are lacking in at least 2 of those things. Many lack all 3. I suppose common courtesy can be added to that list. Most coming out of the CDL mills these days absolutely lack common courtesy.

I've gotten into near fisticuffs with numerous retards for coming into my station and dropping trailers in throughways, dumping dollies in those throughways, or other random spots, setting up while blocking the only throughway, and neither of them had the manhood to own up to their stupidity. Thankfully I haven't seen any of them back at my station since. Most contractors, sadly, base their hiring standards on two things: a pulse and CDL. It's like they say, "here are the keys. Good luck! Figure it out yourself!"

I won't drive for any FedEx Ground contractors after moving to FL. Trying to find a decent one is like playing Russian Roulette. The difference is all the chambers but one is loaded. I'd rather not take that chance.

Just and FYI: If you catch where your stuff is BEFORE it leaves the hub to make the final leg to your local station, you can call a customer service number and talk to somebody about making arrangements to pick up your package at the station. Getting somebody on the line might be a bit difficult depending where you are. For those in the Philly area and the suburbs, I could give you a number to call via PM. The number goes straight to the linehaul office in KoP. KoP is the head honcho hub in the Philly area. Only use that number under dire circumstances. Don't use and abuse it!

I think manufacturers or pressure from the industry to change the transmission from manual to automatic has played a huge part. Automatics came about as a means to draw in more people who'd otherwise wouldn't be able to operate a commercial vehicle. The industry's door is wide open and being flooded with morons who cannot be trusted to make a plain sandwich.

Morons were existent when I entered but the lack of common courtesy wasn't so widespread and accepted as it is today. A ton of idiots lacking in the skills to pay their bills use the fuel lanes as a place to park for their fucking breaks. That wasn't tolerate over a decade ago. I still don't tolerate it. Fuel up, move up, and get the fuck outta the way. If doing neither, find a legitimate parking stall and do your business. The bad driving habits have also increased. Many on the road today drive those fucking rigs like they drive their own vehicle. The tailgating has become a rampant problem. Even though the truck I drive tops out at 75mph, I often keep it around 65 to 68mph since I don't care to catch up to the clusterfucks ahead. When I do catch up, I have a ton of pedal left to make a quick and solid pass. Dipshits catch up and think tailgating is the best course of action. Seriously....what the fuck?

I have had three packages overnighted to my work address in the last 4 months. We are just over an hour from civilization, asshole drives a route that goes out over two hours from his office because this is the hinterlands. He stops at my office, gets out of truck, sticks missed delivery label to door and drives off. Does not knock, ring door bell or carry package. He never intends to deliver the package. He has literally done this when the door is opened and he can clearly see people inside the office, he sticks label beside the door and runs off.

I then call his office directly because I saved their number, tear into his boss a bit, nothing mean, just harsh. Last time he literally went to rear door because I was standing in front door. They make him return the same day, he tries to ignore the mess he caused every time.

The question is why? Why act stupid and increase both your workload and your misery because I cause him as much misery as possible. I'm guessing he is "woke" and I am white and we are a 24/7 operation unaffected by the corona hoax so he is acting out his Biden hate fantasy on his customers. This happens all over tiny town to anyone he deals with constantly. FEDEX as a company could literally care less. His manager as a person does not enjoy it so much.

This is what I have noticed the most. I try like hell to keep my cool, but about 12 years ago one of those tailgating idiots decided he wanted to pass the truck in front right when my car was within 5 feet of his trailer and passing on the left. Maybe because I had that happen more than a few times over the previous months, I fucking lost it. As soon as I could I got in front of him and brake checked him so hard that I saw the trailer tires begin to lock up.

Not proud of that, but it shows what happens when some people get pushed hard enough.

And then there's the asshole taking 15 minutes to make a pass because he's going 0.5 mph faster than the truck on the right.

Not only that, yesterday, i went to fedex to ship a rifle and the dumb bitch at the desk (acted like it was her first day) had to look at her handbook before taking the rifle and said it HAD to be shipped next day. I told her that was bullshit and i had just shipped a rifle 2 weeks prior via fedex ground to MT with $3500 worth of insurance and it was $81. I asked how much this was going to cost to send it to TN and she said $171. i told her NOPE! grabbed the rifle and left. While driving away, i called fedex dangerous shipping and he said that rule only applies to hand guns. I turned around, went back and told her "ME AGAIN". Explained that i talked to corporate and that next day rule only applied to pistols and she never asked me what kind of firearm this was and it was a barreled action. She talked to her manager and came back. Told me ground was $16 plus $15 worth of insurance valued at $1300. I replied "far cry from $171 aint it?" she agreed and took the rifle. They dont know wtf is going on half the time.

I'm waiting to see if there is going to be any fall out over calling fx's 800 number and complaining about the contracted help. Last delivery the driver had a bag over the box, that's odd as weather was not a problem. Once I opened the box, I saw a pretty good size hole in the bottom of the box. Explains the bag. Now I have to fight it out with brownells and fx over the claim. 30 day wait according to brownells. This was really both brownells and fx' fault. Brownells didn't do a good job packing, so the sharp edge and weight of two items punched thru. Lots of packing retards at the vendors locations too. Amazon is the worst.

I use to have a really good driver for ups, he would even bring up the empty garbage can if it was setting out. Those days are long gone, along with him.

The automatic transmission has opened the door wide open for people who would otherwise have no business in this business. Many of these trucks now "drive" like a 4 wheeler. It used to take some skill to shift gears, go down steep grades in the proper gear with the engine retarder/compression brakes/jake brakes going, and keeping the brakes from catching fire. With automatics, the transmission pretty much does it on its own. Modern trucks take very little skill to operate. The only merely require a driver with a pulse.

I choose to confront the morons who incense me. Most will run their dick sucker lips on the CB and refuse to pull over with me to talk things over. Those who did get to see me have locked their doors, rolled up their windows, and hid in the sleeper berth. I'm not exactly a guy of small stature. Sure as shit not obese and I still have all my teeth. Many of the dickheads on the road would have gotten their asses beat at a truck stop a decade ago. They would have either taken the beating and learned a lesson or learned they don't belong and removed themselves from the industry altogether.

Well, FX struck again with a no delivery. I've done some digging and I don't know if it will do any good for you guys, but here is a corporate office number for FX. It may take some doing but you can eventually get to an English speaking customer advocate: 469-980-3000. Be polite and hopefully it will bring reward to you.
I did find out that the late and damaged deliveries are being made by contracted help. Not the regular FX employed drivers. Makes you wonder why we pay such high shipping fees and end up with the second stringers.
The 800 number for FX is pretty worthless. Very hard to understand the poor/broken English.

Item finally arrived, but it took about 3 hours of phone calls. Punk that showed up looked like a total crack head and smelled really bad even at 10 ft. away. I had him set the box on the drive as I didn't want to get close enough to catch the head lice. Most unkempt kid I've seen in a long while.

He had the balls to argue with me about how it wasn't his fault for late and damaged deliveries. This after admitting he didn't have the time to deliver my package the day before, even though it was on the truck. Now I know they lied at the local delivery hub.

Can't believe how desperate fx must be to hire this kind of trash.

I had a package show up today that was allegedly "delayed" until Tuesday.

Watched fedex kick a package down my neighbors driveway, then pick it up and throw it at their door.

Fedex today misdelivered my Swaro SLC 15x56 to the wrong address completely in the middle of nowhere... Signature and everything. $2400 binos to the wrong address.

I get a phone call from the guy who read the address label and had my phone number on there and he offers to drive them to my work. The guy gets multiple packages to his workshop everyday so he failed to check. He apologized when he really didn't need to since it wasn't his fault.

Anyhow, good humans in the world and I get my Swaros AND find out the guy who received them is a metal fabricator. So he gave me a business card and let me know he can build ar500 targets for me.

Fedex's fuck up was slightly a blessing.

Had the same thing happen with an item that was supposedly delivered, but wasn't. Fed said it was delivered to the wrong address. Went to the address and the guy didn't know anything about it. As I'm talking to him, here comes the fed ex driver. "Oh I have it here on my truck." Would not answer why it was shown as delivered...........Total douche bag.

NO they don't. This and a lot of other problems plaguing the country can be tied to the biteme bucks that d.c. is passing out for people not to work. Published articles(Newsmax) state that the reason the gasoline prices are going up is directly due to a lack of drivers. Supposedly there is plenty of gasoline. Sounds perverse, but welcome to commie joe land.
Why would lazy people go to work when they can make ends meet by staying home and collecting biteme bucks? They have no work ethic and I have no respect for that.
