They have done it, I have shot the white (prototype) but it was a lot of years ago...
If you have a sharp eye and find my one of my POF videos on YouTube you can see the Magpul AICS magazine. Its white laying next to me.
This was like 2007 or something (I would have to check the date) but they lost interest in it shortly after.
+1 +1 +1 +1 !!!!I would even like to see DBM made to accept the 308 PMAGs.
+1 +1 +1 +1 !!!!
I've now helped two other shooters choose and purchase DBM. Both would have chosen a DBM that accepted Magpul PMags in a heartbeat if they were available. Or a Magpul AICS magazine would basically provide the same benefit. Whoever comes out with the product first will reap the rewards!
Redirt78 - Thinking about it more, that makes sense now. I was thinking about all the actions that would take a double-stack magazine (like my Stiller which takes AWs) but very few people are going to purchase an action like that and put it in a stock which requires an aftermarket DBM to be installed... Time to have everyone call Magpul (very politely) asking for them to make an AICS magazine? I hope they would do an AICS mag as well as a double-stack AW mag replacement.Well, as Massoud already stated... The first part will probably never happen being that the current 308 Pmags are double stack. On the second part, only Magpul could make Pmags for AICS so they'd for sure be the first to do it.
I do agree that it would be cool to have polymer Magpul AICS mags that would potentially be a lot cheaper than factory AI's. I'm sure they'd be reliable or Magpul wouldn't produce them so I'd have to buy a few.
James Gleason from Magpul replied to my email inquiring about this subject. This is what he said:
Thank you for your inquiry. We’re always looking for ways to improve upon existing products and explore the boundaries of new ideas, but are not releasing any information on projects that may or may not be in the works. Please keep an eye on our website for news and updates:
Magpul | Unfair Advantage
As Frank mentioned, we had done the AICS pmag at Magpul. I had designed it, and I've pushed for them to get it into production ever since. I suspect you'll see something along those lines within a year.
As for the DBM taking .308 mags, that will not happen. No action currently in production of which I am aware will take .308 double stack SR-25 mags and the market would be small for those willing to cut on their action only to be limited in the OAL to 2.82".

The MVPs work with PMAGS/AR mags because of that little dingle on the bottom of the bolt.Doesn't the new Mossberg MVP 7.62 accept 308 pmags?
Didn't MDT just release for pre order, plastic, AICS mags?
You can buy Ruger Gunsite AICS compatible plastic mags (.308) for $29.90 and use them with a bit of modification.
So no real reason for Magpul AICS
