Got a new rifle on its way and found a good deal on arc mags but remember reading and hearing lots of people having problems with them. Wondering if anyone knows if they’ve been fixed or worked out?

I never had a issue with mine. i never used them in a stock 700 either work great in my bighorns and tikka. Its actually my go to mag in my tikka.

No, the fundamental design of the mag makes it more susceptible to dust than others. That has not changed since they were introduced. Some of the follower issues have been mitigated by either aftermarket followers or end-user modification of the stock follower.

It's a non-issue for many people since they don't get their rifle extremely dusty.

I just ordered these.

I think it can also depend on the OAL of your rounds. Mine have the LRI followers and with a 6.5x47 that's almost to mag length, they hang-up repeatedly. They run perfect in my Dasher and 6BR with the shorter length.

Mine has yet to fail. Shot a local match a month ago with winds from 14-30 mph blowing dirt in the action. My rifle had a nice coating of dirt and the action was getting gritty towards the end. Mag still fed without and issue. Just my experience.

I bought several and they wouldn’t work in my Remington action or Curtis axiom. The rounds would slide forward in the mag and get hung up under the feed ramp. They would not feed past the first round. I’m sure I could have modified the action to get them the work but didn’t want to go that far. Sold them a couple days later.

Correct, this is an issue with certain magazines and certain actions. MDT even warns purchasers about possibly needing a front binder plate for some actions.

Luckily, MDT sells magazines with binder plates and without. My actions don't have any issues with the ARC magazines at all and I don't shoot in dusty environs, so I haven't had any binding issues at all.

Awesome, makes me feel a bit better. I have a custom 260. Rem loaded pretty long on a stiller tac 30 that I can try it in, or my custom 6mm creed

Ive been running them over a year in my RPR and 6 months in my Nucleus, both 6.5CM. They run great for the most part, but you can feel them getting harder to feed and gritty when they get dirty if you don't pay attention they will eventually jam. I carry 3 with me at matches and take one out of rotation when it gets dirty. I've tried almost every other mag and the ARC mags are the smoothest for me as long as I keep them clean..
