Have You Gotten More Conservative Or Liberal As You've Grown Older?

All that's really changed is that I've realized that it's not worth my time to argue with idiots.
I lean conservative but there are some republicrat policies that I think are an absolute abomination
Started off conservatively as a young man. Much more today at 62. Probably in the curmudgeon underground resistance group. Lol
Here is my simple litmus test that really pisses people off. Diversity and tolerance should work ways. Ok you want me to accept and respect your differences-fine. Just give me the same courtesy. Funny how others don’t see it that way. No plans to convert, quit thinking what is insane is normal or try to forget the lessons history have taught.

Another good test, from the great Michael Malice, is to simply ask; “Are some people better than others?”
Right-leaning may ask a follow up question or two but the answer will just be “yes”.

Back in the 90s I had a liberal girlfriend, she honestly believes at that lefty bullshit about guns bad, ideas bad, jobs bad, bootstraps bad, welfare good. On the flipside she loved screwing and was great at it. We screwed three times a day if we had time.
No facts clouded her mind and no truths changed her opinions. No matter how many ways I proved her wrong, and she agreed that her opinion was wrong. Nothing could change that wrong opinion.
The reason she was so good in the sack was because she had the morals of an alleycat. She always cheated, lied and strayed. She would lie to your face without a care. She fucked every boss she ever had, she fucked her stepson, she fucked the husband of the people she babysat for in high school, she fucked her recruiter, she fucked her dad's friend at her dad's funeral. The stuff she admitted was troubling and the makings of great porn at the same time.
I'm still conservative by nature nothing changed for me. I'm sure wherever she is today she is wrong, fully vaxxed and fucking her 35yo sons friends when they come to see him in her basement for xbox sleepovers.

As you well know, conservative != Republican. The difference between the two parties isn't so much how much government you want but rather where you want it.
Count me in the Just Want To Be Left Alone category. I think those living sufficiently far from the coasts and borders will eventually get there, but the path might be a bit bumpy.
This is one of the best things about YouTube. There's so many comedians funding their start and maintaining gigs because they can show that people want to watch.
And the best part is, they don't have anyone controlling them. They say whatever they want, keep on with the YouTube videos, and all the woke cancel culture just passes them by.
There's a few other YouTubers that joke about being cancelled constantly. People try, and their fan base comes hard and supports them through it. They have figured out you can only be cancelled if you let someone else control the show.

I grew up what I call stupidly conservative, being pro police, pro government, thinking if you have nothing to hide, why be concerned about government surveillance.
As I've aged I still have a fundamentally conservative personality type, but I am far more open to liberal ideas/critiques of the world. But under no circumstances do I think left wing/liberal politicians have the right ideas to solve these problems.
I guess I'd say I'm a center right libertarian, who believes in small local government.
I am however 100% "just want to be left alone".

I graduated high school in a very very very small town in Idaho. 13 other seniors and we had a large class. Take a guess how that community is still defined on the conservative vs liberal spectrum.
Now, I was born in the Elmendorf AFB hospital, my dad was E5 at Ft. Richardson. By the time he was KIA Vietnam, and I was in the 3rd grade, I had been to 7 schools. By the time I was a Senior, I had attended 7 more. I've been everywhere, man, is heartfelt. My world view was far expanded when compared to my classmates. I went to that school for 1.5 years.
I believe it was Senior year, we were required to take a course titled US Government. I learned a phrase "laissez-faire". The definition given was basically that the government should "allow" people to do as they wish. During class discussion, I asked, shouldn't it be that the people allow the government to do only what they want? Isn't that what the Constitution says? The Federalist papers lead us to?
My teacher, not long out of the Army, combat Vietnam vet, Captain, said that I would likely be very disappointed for the rest of my life. Maybe 10 years later, I understood what he meant.
I'd like to rescind the 16th, 17th, 19th, 23rd amendments. I'd like to go back to only male land owners being eligible to vote. We need term limits across the board for Congress, POTUS and SCOTUS. We need single item only legislation. Either a flat rate tax with no deductions or a sales tax applied only to the first time sale of an item. Zero death/inheritance tax. End administrative rule.
There's plenty more. I could go on for pages. If only I could be King for a few days.

I’m an ex conservative but damn sure not a liberal. I agree with the cons on some topic and libs on others. Identifying as liberal or conservative and adhering to either party’s platform hasn’t done our country any favors, start voting for issues and not parties.
I haven't changed, but where the lines are drawn sure have. I probably used to be considered "leans right". And now somewhere near the "psycho right wing nutjob extremist" section on the lefts liberal scale.

I tend to agree with @Grizz3153 My values and beliefs have not changed since I became mature enough to think for myself. (well over 50 years). It is strange how national politics and morays have changed around us who were born in the first half of the last century.
My thoughts about race, gender. If you can do the job and are willing to do it the way it should be done, I don’t give a damn who or what you are, get on with the program. If you can’t do the job, get the Hell Out Of The WAY! Oh, about @Aftermath ’s thought on voting. While my Brenda usually makes excellent voting decisions, I always though that if we had never moved past, only male property owners having the right to vote, that would have been a great way to keep people like hillary clinton and her ilk out of office.

Right now, I'm really on a woman hating hill. I think women and woman thought is destroying our country, and even the world. If you notice, the countries that have their women under control, look more like they have for 1000s of years. Maybe I'm looking at it all wrong, but touchy/feelie bullshit is out of control. I see woman ideology creep into my own life all the time.
When I read stories like the one above, with the woman whoring around. 150 years ago, there would have been a solution to a woman like that. Today, just a bunch of "Is this still available" post. I know it's in jest, but a true conservative would be disgusted by woman like this. If you're seriously looking for a whore today, 90% of them are. Your chances are good!

There is a definite out of balance of masculine/feminine and it is intentional to induce chaos. Evil knows chaos leads to our division and our division leads to our defeat. Read God's word and pray. Stay frosty and true. Don't partake or give in to chaos.
