Mine just arrived today so i have not bad the chance to mount and test it. I will say that my initial impressions are very good. Glass is crisp and clear but i will get more detailed once i mount it and put some time in behind it. The clicks are smooth and audible but are a little mushy....not as crisp as my NXS or Premier but then again that would not be a fair compairison considering the Hawks is less than $500. I will say the locking feature of the turrets seems nice in concept but in reality it makes it very easy to get "lost" if dialing for long range and using multiple turns. There are no reference points to see how many turns you have made so you better remember lol.....you should anyhow but crap happens. I will put the scope to use this week and see how it does but will say out of the box it looks pretty darn good.
There was a pretty impressive review about the Hawke 30mm scope in this optics section I remember reading a while back. I would pull it up for you but I dont know how. bshooter..

I assume this is the thread to which you are referring: http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2003242&page=1
I'm a little biased (being that I'm a Hawke Dealer) but my initial impressions are very favorable of the Tac 30. The glass quality is excellent and competes well with other scopes in this price range. The reticle is well thought out & adjustments are positive & tactile. It is a lot of scope for the money & there is a group buy going on right now
Thanks for the replies. I may have to try one. Some have said that a 20 power is to much magnification for a 42mm objective. Is the 20 or 14 power the best choice?
Depends on your needs but be aware that my particular model (6-20) goes visibly and noticeably worse beyond 14 (not to say it's unusable or anything it's just not as comfortable and nice as @ 14 and below). My advice would be if you don't need 20x go with 4-14 but then again that's up to you do decide
.
Still good bang for the buck i was positively surprised by it and instead of 3months i've been using it now for half a year and still going strong...
