Ok I have a action that I want to put a Savage model 12 heavy barrel on. But the barrel nut I have will not fit on this barrel Where would I find a larger ID nut.

so you have a large shank barrel...and a small shank nut... do you have a large or small shank action?

This is a small shank model 110 round action and a model 12 22-250 barrel. The barrel threads in fine to the action. Just the nut will not go down the last 3".

if the barrel and action are both small shank, and the nut is a small shank (it is, or it would be sloppy, not tight) you don't need a larger barrel nut... my guess is that the threads need to be cleaned well and checked for burrs... but some are just a hair tight (tolerances) and you have to put the barrel in the vise and use the barrel nut wrench

Kind of guessing at what's wrong here, but try screwing the barrel nut onto the shank before screwing the barrel into the action. If that's not the problem, then a picture is worth a thousand words.

Never mind first build and was being dumb. Problem fixed.
