Heads up on Fake M24 Receivers

These appear to be the same PTG fakes that we discussed last year. Unfortunately they are being sold a real M24 receivers.

Thanks for the heads-up! The "ARMS" and "M24" were obviously added later. There's other details with the markings, but this is the big one that stands out the most. PTG is a piece of shit company that is doing their best to sell people fake items or lie about the history or original items they're selling. I highly recommend everyone to stay far away from any of PTG's "sniper rifle" items that are listed on their website.

I do believe that Bryant Ridge on Gunbroker (auctions linked in the link above) is the same company that was selling a "genuine" M24 earlier this year that somehow ended up a short action.

Chances are that these companies lack the required knowledge to readily spot a fake, and are just facilitating the sale for a commission. Unless it is a CMP auction (and even if it is), you'd better be doing your homework on the stuff you bid on.

I'd be more sympathetic to Bryant Ridge, but IIRC they re-listed that same M24 in question after I contacted them with a lengthy email and photos of an authentic M24. In my mind they are just as culpable as the originator of said parts.

Update 12/12/24: Good news! A few hours ago I got an email reply from the owner of Bryant Ridge Co. thanking me for the heads up. He had already been in contact with Gunbroker asking them to take the auctions down. These receivers were consigned. He asked me for some further specifics so he can tell the consignor why they cannot sell them.

Good job! Been calling out these fake m24 receivers for awhile now. I’ve had a few people link these receivers to me thinking they were real.

Good on them for taking them down and not just trying to make a quick buck!
