ok, so i picked up a schmedium bag this last summer. drained all the sand fill out of it and put beads in it to shave off some weight but kinda wanna go back to the sand fill as it seemed a little more stable. problem is i let my daughter play with the sand and its pretty much gone.

what kind of sand is best for these game changer type bags?

    Thanks.

I made a bag years ago & I stuffed it w/ poly beads. It worked quite well actually.

I ordered mine online but a quick search shows you can pickup a bag at the local Walmart.

Consider good quality kitty litter. Guy who makes/sells Bull Bags suggested it to me for his X bag and it actually works great. Not a very light fill, not as heavy as sand, and it seems to lock up.

And, if you really need to pee you are all set! haha

I used this stuff when I was messing with my full size GC and went 1/2 beads and 1/2 sand. I bought the schmedium later and took some fill out to compare. very close in density

So kicking up this old thread - I just picked up a new ag plus 1 bag (schmedium but like +1" to the dimensions) and with heavy sand fill it's like 10.5 lbs.

I'm trying to get it maybe just a bit lighter - say 7lbs. I still want the kind of gritty locking behavior that sand has, but I think if I just go with a slightly larger particulate it can get a little lighter. Anyone ever try something like - https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/zilla-ground-english-walnut-shells-reptile-bedding ?

We usually bought everlast bags in the 100-120 lb round with synthetic covers for durability. Be sure to tape your hands well and wear quality training gloves- to spare your knuckles/joints as much damage as possible.

From jcsteel. Got it in and it was 13 lbs. With some fill removed to where I liked it it was like 11.5. I switched over to that crushed walnut fill and it is 5.5 lbs. Nice balance and still a nicer locking feel than poly beads.

Thanks for the tip, cut my +1's weight in half as well. It was way too heavy as is, and too easy to knock NRL22 props around with it.
