I sure hope the stupid fucking kid wasn’t too annoyed about his father getting gunned down and his mother shrieking..... because we all know he’s really going to be annoyed at the idea of having to take the garbage out now that dad won’t be there to do it. And no more rides in the side by side. Gotta sell that to make the next months mortgage.

I’m with you in principle, but the wife walks out and says ”he’s trying to hit me.” Presumably she knows he is walking around with a firearm in his hands. She got him deaded. And the kid calling the cops because he is annoyed at their arguing, derp. Looked and sounded like a stupid situation all the way around.
Yes, it's a horrible incident. The suspect was bringing up a weapon. The cop, in no world or universe, is obligated to stand there and die. However, the mag dump is becoming prevalent. However, it does stop the threat.
So, how about the suspect not try to hit is wife and when the police roll up on the domestic, he doesn't brandish a weapon?
It is a two-way street. He should not have to die and neither should the cop.
What a ClusterFuck. Kid calls cops and will regret that call the rest of his life. Wife opens door wide for cops and says "he tried to hit me", but will regret much of what she said and did that night.
Dad is dead. Dad shouldn't have been armed if it was just an argument. Cop has to live with the fact he killed a guy in his own home.
Perhaps the cop prevented an aggravated assault or murder. Maybe he wasted a guy who was just cleaning his guns while the wife bitched about how much she hates gun in her house- causing the argument.

Enlighten me on the proper response for this situation, you can start at the part where the woman walks past the officer.
Did the guy have a gun? I watched it a few times and just couldn't see. If so that's just really unfortunate but I don't know exactly what protocol is in that specific instance since the son or daughter who called said there wasn't any weapon ect... the wife definitely got him him deaded

I know your question is rhetorical. Some ACAB is prevalent here. The cop should not have been there, the man should have been allowed to beat his wife or shoot everyone, how dare the police walk in harm's way and then do what has to be done.

You might need to just sit this out. I mean, I can't make a lot out on the video myself, but it's ABSOLUTELY CLEAR , that she came OUTSIDE. THE COP THEN WENT INSIDE.

This is why you don't just barge in and dump your mag. Like I said, I don't know protocol in that situation, but this SOP that's prevalent all over the country of "kill everyone and then figure out what's happening " is insane and wrong. That cop PUT HIMSELF INTO THAT SITUATION, then used it as an excuse to execute a man. It's at minimum a really bad idea and he should have been suspicious from the get go considering the freaking kid called in but obviously wasn't scared and wasn't worried, was just annoyed. Then the wife happens to run out as the cop walks up and "he's trying to hit me" ??? The whole thing is suspicious. Instead of recognizing that, hey let's just run in and dump our mag out and kill the guy. Sorry, that just isn't ever going to make sense to me.

Yeah, it's super weird. She probably put the kid up to it. Obviously the situation wasn't some out of control mess. Everyone there was calm. The wife could have picked up the rifle (I'm assuming that's correct because I can't tell if he has anything) and handing it to the guy then walked out and told the cop "he's trying to hit me". It almost looks staged it's so odd
I value not having police coming into people's homes and killing them. Did the guy even know the police were there???

Dude probably bought a new rifle off the px here and got into an argument with the wife when she found out. Probably attempting to explain its features and justify the cost to her when she seizes the opportunity to have it for herself

Look, I'm not wade as he himself will quickly tell you. I'm not one of the I hate cops all the time every time guys. This cop just staright up went in and started saying something and emptied his gun. This constant projection of there not being any other possibility just doesn't make sense to me. We all have guns in our houses and I feel really sorry for anyone who has the cops show up for any reason because the SOP has become to just shoot everyone and then see if they can find out what is actually happening. I know a lot of cops, I've been to the bars with them, I know exactly how the vast majority roll and it didn't used to be the way it is now.
You can hear them screaming at each other as the cop walks up. I lived in suburban phoenix for awhile shit like that isn't uncommon down there. There's a lot of people who are abrasive and really short on brainpower. And then the wife walks out and tells the cop he's beating on her which basically deads him.

Unless you grew up in a house hold of domestic violence, you have no idea of the damage it does to your life going forward. It affects every thought and action you make for the rest of your life , I loved my father till the day he died at 88yrs of life , but if a cop had killed him when he was beating my mother when I was 5 years old , I'd have been Allright with that too.

It ain't a clear cut deal, sucks no matter what. If he didn't go in and the father came out and just started shooting, then people would be up the cops ass for not going in right away to prevent that outcome. He goes in right away and kills the guy and we're saturday night quarterbacking everything he did wrong. It's a lose/lose, damned if you do, damned if you don't. There are like 70 million police interactions every year. A few thousand go really, really bad, and it's everywhere, shared on facebook, instagram, tiktok, everywhere like it's happening all the time and everywhere. Think about it statistically, how many videos of shitty cops do you see every day. Now multiply that by 365, and even if you multiply that by 25 times to account for the videos that you never see, statistically, it's rare. It sucks there is even one bad shoot, but statistically, it's going to happen, and not just a couple dozen times. You'll rarely see the interactions where everything goes without a hitch, that's boring. We love to see the ones where everything goes wrong.

I whole heartedly believe in castle doctrine. But I don't think many will say it applies when LEOs are invited in. Another analogy, vampire can't come in unless you invite him. For the most part...
The officer didn't draw his weapon until the dude started lifting his rifle. The fighting was bad enough that their child called 911. The wife ran to the cops as soon as she saw them while the dude scurried away. You might not like how it went down, but it's a far cry from "the police barged into a home and executed a guy".
I want to note that the cop never said anything like “Police!” How was the guy supposed to know who was coming around the corner? All he heard was “sir?”

You make a great point Branden. I guess this guy's actual problem is that he was in his own house hurting no one. Even the angry wife only says he was trying a hit me" not that he had hit her.
The sad fact is that he could have taken his AR to a school and shot a boatload of kids and this cop would have hid behind a dumpster for officer safety
