Hello fellas, i'm new to these forums. But i have asked questions before in that nifty little Shout Box. Anyway, i picked up another Ruger 10/22 because they are so much fun. I am planning on adding a nice bull barrel and thumbhole stock. The trigger will come a little later. What are some good brands, and what do i need to know before purchasing them? Here is a picture of what i want the end result to look like.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide!

P.S: Looking to spend around $300-400, hard times!

Re: Hello, Ruger 10/22 Stock&Barrel question.

er shaw barrels are bottom of the line. i would recommend a Tactical solutions Barrel. I just built a new 10/22 with one and it shoots ragged hole groups at 50 yards. It is actually the barrel on the gun you posted in the first picture. they are the cat's meow and just so happens there is a dealer for em right here on the Hide. He has some for sale as we speak...

and they are threaded in case you want to add a suppressor in the future.

Thank you, i appreciate it. I will go for that barrel. Except i have never purchased a part on any forums, ever. I might need to get it from another site.

why? just PM the guy and he'll sell it to you. He is a sponsor here which means he is a business owner like anyone else. no sense overpaying when he is offering such a good deal.

Re: Hello, Ruger 10/22 Stock&Barrel question.

The KIDD barrel is head and shoulder above the TacSol... and less money.

The target hammer and spring set wbw2 listed is what I use and it is very good for not switching out the entire trigger group.

You can have both for basically the same price as the TacSol barrel.

Boyd's should have the style stock you're looking for.

Re: Hello, Ruger 10/22 Stock&Barrel question.

Friggit, I have shot TacSol, Volquartsen and KIDD side by side and there is no comparison. KIDD all the way. VQ and KIDD are comparable, but when you add price in the mix, KIDD blows them ALL away. Superior fit and finish, superior customer service, perfect products. I might also suggest, with the purchase of a new barrel, getting the extractor and buffer from KIDD. Adds roughly $20 total. Well worth the cost of admission. Zero failures to extract. Zero problems to eject (mine had some of those failures before my build).

Check out my build here, forget the title, but I just updated it yesterday. Project Jane: Accuracy Quest, I believe. Would link it, but am on my phone right now. Really love my Droid 3.

I used a Boyds Tacticool stock, and my rifle dropped right in for dang near perfect fit. I wanted my barrel floated, but that may be coming out for further testing and accuracy gains. Hard to improve on this though.

I am not going to burn you at the cross for choosing other than KIDD, but you might do it yourself if you buy something else THEN shoot a KIDD. I got a few local guys to short sale their TacSol and VQ barrels and order KIDD. Just sayin.

On your short list of upgrades, may also throw in a good picattiny rail for optics. I know the 3/8 rimfire was the cats a$$ years ago, but get a good optics mount. Don't let accuracy suffer from poor optics or optics mount. That's just me.

I do hope we have been of service to you. In any case, make sure to post up your build so we can see what others do with their LEGO rifles!

Re: Hello, Ruger 10/22 Stock&Barrel question.

wow 300 comes up quick. id start with a tactical solutions barrel. and your at the limit. for 19.95 you can get a v-block. even without a new barrel it will tighten up your groups pretty well. its probably the best 20 bucks i spent on a gun part. the trigger i recomend is kidd triggers out of texas. they rock out with a trigger that breaks clean at as low as 6 oz. i have mine set at 9.
