Can i get everyone's opinion about what helmet to go with?
i'm trying to decide between OPS Core FAST Carbon and the OPS CORE Base Jump. I will be using it as a platform for my PVS-14.
Most of my NV use will require shooting and land nav across rough terrain.
I was thinking to just stay with the Base Jump and put the extra money into Wilcox mounts for better stability but then again i can go with the Carbon and still upgrade the mounts, hahah
thanks guys

Re: Helmets

just get teh base jump i have both and the carbon doens't offer anything really the base jump doesn't . thank god i didn't have to pay for mine

Your line of thinking is correct.

We RARELY sell the carbon helmets any longer. Not much in the way of huge benefits vs. costs vs. performance vs. the Base Jumps. I own and use both extensively.

Re: Helmets

I really think thats splitting hairs. Ive used the base jump and the ballistic version, dont have anything to say about the carbon. But the regular plastic jump helmets I would think would be a bit stronger possibly than the carbon. Thats pure speculation but most carbon will only flex to a point before tearing. Plastic on the other hand is a different animal. And as far as weight goes they are so close who cares?

Not to mention if you want the NVD to balance properly you are going to need to put something on the back of the helmet anyway; strobe extra batteries, counter weight ect.

Re: Helmets
