I need the proper rail and rings to Mount a Falcon 4-14X42 ffpml16 scope to a Remington 700 tactical. I am completely lost. I am looking for a good Quality/Cost option, the best value not necessarily the cheapest.

Thanks,

Nick

Oh, I am a real newbie guys, which rings? High, low , 1" or whatever. I did not think there could be so many choices in mounting a scope to a rifle.

Re: Help a Newbie out with Rail/Rings!

I don't really know of many bad " tacticle" or military style rings. Seekins aluminum,Leupold steel or aluminum, GG&G steel or aluminum, Nightforce aluminum, Badger aluminum or steel.....I don't really care for IOR rings because I have seen some ID size differences but I may have a set that was made on a monday morning after the factory workers had a rough weekend. As far as the argument aluminum or steel for tacticle rings, with the quality materials and the superb machining and design that goes into these rings, if you hit both of them with an impact hard enough to damage either one or bang it hard enough you won't have to worry about being able to take a shot anyway because your scope, mounts, screws, bolts, is toast. I would check out Seekins rings which are made out of aluminum and they are built for hell and high water. He is a great supporter of this sight and many people on this sight has his products and rave about his products and his support...His callsign is "Heatseekins" . Check him out and do a search on this site to find out what people say about his stuff... Hope this helps...SmokeRolls

Re: Help a Newbie out with Rail/Rings!

If new is out of your price range, look into the used section "Optics & Accessories For Sale ". You need to do a little asking questions as to what base and rings you need ( We need to know what scope you have and if it's a 1" tube or 30mm tube, what rifle you have, what caliber you have and what distance you plan to shoot. We will try to help but we need more info...... SmokeRolls

Re: Help a Newbie out with Rail/Rings!

I have the 700 sps tac.
She is rocking a EGW 20moa rail and LOW Burris Xtreme tac rings.
It wasnt hard on the pockets and it does the job.

So the EGW 20 MOA short action rail and 420160: Burris Xtreme Tactical Picatinny Rail Low 1/4 Inch Height 30mm Two Rings will get my Falcon onto my Remington without any issues?

Re: Help a Newbie out with Rail/Rings!

Other option in the same price range as the burris is the TPS rings. Either one will do the job. Another option is the DNZ one piece low, that what Im running on my M700 with the same scope.

It will work, and you'll have room for flip-ups. You'll be happy with that set up.
