I took the plunge into precision shooting and have on order a Schmidt Bender PMII 5-25x56 L/P P4 Fine MRAD DT CCW.
i would like to get the 50BMG QD LaRue mount for it, but do not know which ring size to get.
the host rifle will be a 338 LM, so i figure the 50 rings would be a good choice for it.
thanks

Don't get QD for a 338. What rifle is it? A good base and a set of rings will be a better option.

You talking ring size or height? Size is 34mm tube. Height would depend on rifle/mount.

Excellent choice of optics by the way!

its going on a DTA SRS in 338LM

why should i opt to go with a non QD mount for the optics?

Re: help a newbie.... scope ring size?

Because on a long range precision rifle it's most likely not going to be taken off all the time. Once the rifle is set up and zeroed you want to leave it that way. A properly torqued on set of rings or one piece set up will be a better option. That said it's your set up and your money.

If you wanted something that's one piece then get something like DTA's mount
