All the medium speed powders that seem to be recommended for 300 BLK are unobtanium right now. AA1680, W296, and lil gun seem to be the most recommended, but I can't find any. In my current powder inventory, I only have fast (Titegroup) and slow (Varget, CFE223, and H4831). I don't see any load data for these anywhere for 300. I have an unfired AR in 300, and I have made brass for it, and I just want to be able to shoot it a little. I have a variety of 30 cal projectiles for it in 130 - 208 grains. Has anyone had any success loading 300 with any of the powders mentioned that I have now? Are there good reasons not to try them? Or I am I just SOL until I trip over a can of Lil gun? I know the recent shortages have forced folks to be more creative with powder choices lately. Any advice or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

16 inch barrel, 7 twist.

H110 is the same as W296. Reloader 7 is another one for the subsonic stuff that works well. Some guys using other stuff too. Check out 300blktalk.com for all the 300blk info.

Alliant Power Pro 300 MP is probably the best powder for supersonics if you can find it. For subs, H4198 is a substitute for AA1680 for a powder that will cycle in an AR. You can use most of the faster pistol type powders with light bullets (<175 grain) and light charge weights to make super quiet sub loads, but they will not cycle. On such example is 4.8 grains of Trailboss under a 90-110 grain bullet. Probably the quietest 300 BLK sub load you can get.
