I bought this M24 set recently and don't know anything about them. The rings have a "D" stamped on the inside of the tops and bottoms. The front looks like it's made for some kind of attachment. Does anybody know who made them and what is supposed to mount on top of them?? Thanks.

Scope is a 10X M3A made in 1988 (88 SN prefix). Front sight is a Redfield International. Rear sight is a Redfield Palma.

Looks like a mounting system for a SIMRAD KN-200,a really early night vision scope. As I recall they were tested about the time your scope was made. We used them in very limited amounts in 1991. The complete system would include another ring that would go over the front base and have a mount for the SIMRAD,very similar to the Marine SIMRAD ring in use today.

Then again, I could be full of shit. TJR

That front sight looks to have been cut down to comply with ISU/UIT smallbore rules circa 1980s (I haven't kept up since they went to that silly/stupid 11-point rule instead of just adding an X-ring. Probably the French behind that one, too!).

Mine is older (1970s) and has the large-diameter "donut" at the rear of the screw-in portion. Would like to get a second one without the donut.

The rings you have are a part of the mounting system for the NADS 750 night vision scope.

These are Knight's Armament rings and there is a three sided part that is missing that encompasses the day scope on the front ring, the odd one in your pair. That portion has 3 Picatinny rails on it, the top most is what the NADS 750 attaches to.

Odd/rare KAC scope mount? Anyone used one of these? - AR15.Com Archive
