as for the B&T Ive owned both the APC9 and the APC9Pro. get the pro. its not that much more and the differences are worth it. Not sure if itll be here in time for november but the APC9Pro SD is the bees knees and I heard Tar Heel is taking preorders. Ive owned bout all the cool subguns popular these days and my opinion B and T takes the cake.

As for the Radian Model 1. Ive had alot of guns I said id never get rid of. I got rid of them. They will have to pry my radian out of my cold dead hands. I mean that. Owned alot of AR's. Some I built, some I bought built. Radian stands alone.

As for hard to find guns check Gunbroker.com. Just checked theres quite a few noveskes on there right now depending on what noveske you want. Ive found even in times like this, things can still be had, just have to know where to look.

gotta be honest in regards to warranty and your purpose for these rifles. The companies here now may not be here when its time to pass it to your kids. or your kids kids. shit remington just filed for bankruptcy for the second time in a decade. doubt many people saw that coming 20-25 years ago. companies like marlin have changed ownership countless times. the way so many of these companies are owned by massive corporations or groups. and than the small guys. will the small guys still be here if large capacity weapons get banned? what a warranty is now likely wont mean shit in 20 years.

By the way, as for your point about warranty... it's another reason to buy guns that supply the military. It'll likely help keep them remain in business. Besides, if the ban is strictly on capacity, they'll have to simply adapt and manufacture new rifles accordingly.
If there's a complete ban, which is unlikely in my opinion, well, then we're all screwed. Will have to hoard parts.

im not a fan of the apc9k, not enough real estate for my forward hand. but different strokes for different folks. as for compared to the banshee, ive not played with that one so anything I say Id be making up. Theres a bunch of different APC9s on gunbroker. K's, Glock Lowers, Pros.
the stribog is basically a knock off of the apc with different insides. after owning a couple apcs theres no way I could possibly not have a biased opinion about the cheap subgun that ripped off the best ones design.
as for the radian, the only knock on it is the weight. but other than that, everything else about it is top notch. and the weight isnt a knock its just a sum of the weight of the really awesome components they used. it doesnt feel like one of those super light rifles thats gonna break if you had to hit someone with it. I mean I could go part by part and tell you everything I like about the charging handle, trigger, takedown pins, ambi functions, accuracy, recoil impulse, etc.. but its just easier to tell you to go watch this video.

He rather accurately describes the rifle.
I also like a company that allows you to order exactly what you want. What size barrel, what size handguard, what stock and grip, what muzzle device, what color, etc, etc.
I also own a deadair sandman L. Youll love it. and radian can put a dead air brake or hider on there for you so it comes ready for your can.

You are building a quite the collection. Good choice on the radian.

I see a lot of recommendations for SCARs. Honestly, I would do your research on that. Reliability isn't thre for the cost on the SCAR.
Money would be more effectively spent on Noveske, KAC, LMT, JP. HK and LWRC is nice, but again, why buy those over KAC, Noveske, LMT, JP?
I like PWS (which I recommended earlier) because the function is different (i.e. only true long stroke piston) than DI and other piston ARs - when suppressed PWS really comes into its own I feel.

in regard to ammo,
i've been having more luck locally lately. but, keep checking SGAMMO, midway, etc.

ive owned 4 scar 17 in the last decade, and ive put maybe 10k between them. The only time i had any sort of reliability issues was with the one when I put on a striker lower. The scar is very very reliable, and they've shown to be so in military trials.
also, very interesting data coming out of battlefield vegas has shown the scar 16 to be the most durable rifle they've fielded. The owner said he would take a scar 16 over any gun for shtf. They have one there with over 200,000 rounds of automatic fire, and they've only replaced a few pins.
The scar also have the cool factor in a collection, where all of your ar's kind of look and function the same. Get a scar 16 or 17, or both, you will not regret it.

Lmt, kac, lwrc all great choices. Jp shoot amazing, and I use one for 2 and 3 gun.
Noveske quality has fallen off since the passing of John. Many companies have caught up or surpassed them, and are selling for better prices. Lwrc di is a much better deal than anything Noveske.
I would lean heavily towards LMT and Kac. My collection is now 50% lmt stuff. I have barrels for many of the calibers. I have one lmt rifle with 20k rounds through it, and it still shoats moa. Very few misfeeds, and i've only needed to change out the gas ring a few times, no other maintenance required.

I know ak's arent popular here, but ak's run and run with shit ammo. They are much cheaper to feed than your ars. Sure you can shoot steel case out of an ar ,but the ak was designed to shoot steel case. It won't hear it out as much as it will an ar doing so.
If you really want the cool factor in your collection, look into san swiss. The swiss ak. You can get those from JDI import. Just be prepared to wait and pay.

I like the concept of the tavor, but i have too many rounds through non bullpup rifles, and I just never put the time to learn to shoot the tavor well. I sold mine, cause i didn't shoot it well, and didn't have the motivation to put time on that platform.
The great thing with the tavor, is that since the weight is balanced in the rear, it's easier to keep it on target without getting tired. Also, IMI makes quality shit. I really like the galil ace as well.

You’re right, my hesitation with the Tavor is that I’m not sure it’s a good idea to learn a second platform... muscle memory requires a lot of training and I’m thinking I’m probably better off with an AR pistol...

LMT is backlogged by about 9 months with orders. Maybe even more now.
You can still buy their products. Just know that your FFL won't get them for a while. V1tactical is a place I trust for LMT orders. They have a very good relationship with LMT and can historically give you good estimated reception dates.

also clean piston driven. no constant cleaning needed and no gas in your face, even suppressed.
but there will always be AR fanboys, piston haters or scar bashers.

after i bought my Scar 20S (1 of 200) i joined this forum to get some LR specific advice (thanks all!) and saw all kinds of things like:
.308 is dead. long live 6.5CM (not that it isn't better for LR).
if you're new, don't get a .308, because the recoil is too hard and your won't be able to hit anything.
don't get a gas gun as a beginner because you won't be able to control the recoil.
don't get a Scar because the recoil is nasty and hard to control (and it eats optics).
etc etc etc.
well, i was a newb to rifles, having focused on handguns for the last 30 years, being minutes not hours from an indoor range.
30 years behind a P-series Sig means i should have decent trigger control.
the only other .308 anything i've shot was my dad's (now mine) Winchester Model 88 lever gun.

so much for the warnings and predictions.
i found the gun to shoot pretty dang soft. of course it has a brake though.
shot sub moa as soon as i had zeroed it.
hit everything i tried out to 600 yards (max at the range).
and that is why i recommended it. imho, it is easy to shoot. it must be based on my experience, right?

A lot of people say the Bren is a much better value than the scar but I found the quality of the scar way above the Bren.
I just don’t have enough experience with that platform though to make an opinion. If I found a Bren 2 for the right price I would not hesitate to pick one up.

Yeah bullpups feel different. The recoil impulse, manual of arms, and so forth.

I have a fairly large collection but what I like to do is designate a rifle to be what I shoot 80 percent of the time to get really good and comfortable with it. Also I try to keep all of my ars are close to each other as possible. That means they all wear a sopmod stock, magpul grips and foregrips, and a Geissele or Lmt trigger.

Special Order means that they would order direct from LMT and you'd be waiting the 9+ months I quoted.

Also, the LMT Defender is just their version of a standard milspec AR. If going LMT for 5.56, I'd get one of their MARS MLC/MLR rifles and/or uppers.

i only have one, so i wanted something built for abuse and reliability without sacrificing much in the accuracy area.

Add a Benelli M4 12 ga. semi automatic shotgun to your cache for a PDW. I recently purchased the LE version with collapsable stock and extended magazine. Add some 00 buckshot and slugs, or Hornady Critical Defense and you 've got the best home defense gone there is. If it's good enough for the Marines, good enough for me.

Bravo (BCM) also makes a really good AR in either 5.56 or 300BLK also. Noveske Ghetto Blaster or Q Honeybadger are very very hard to get.

My recent purchases in the past 6 months also include Barrett MRAD 6.5CM, DDM4 300BLK, Sig P320 X5 Legion, Sig P320 RXP XCompact, and Sig P365.

Try not to get into the "Tacti-cool" frame of mind for any weapon. Reliable, effective, easy to maintain, available ammo. Then spend money on range time and training. I will take that into control, makes sense. I’ve been focusing on high capacity for now because that would probably be first to go with the Democrats. Shotguns and handguns probably have more time before further restrictions, in my opinion.
In meantime I’ve been enjoying my 300 blackout pistol for home defense, just waiting to get my can on it and it’s a serious weapon .

When I shot the Scar 17 I didn't like the recoil at all, and it didn't feel smooth.
I'm OK with that, but I'd like to something that my wife would feel comfortable with too.
Have you shot the .308? I'm trying to understand recoil impulse and accuracy on that. It is kinda heavy though compared to the others here though..
As for SHTF, I think my version of what that would look like is a lot more mild than others here lol

Scar does have a funny recoil with that heavy bcg. I have never shot the apc308, I have the apc 300 and that shoots relatively smooth for a 300.
The apc series are pretty good with recoil overall but you are still shooting 308. You might want to consider something in 6.5. Better ballistics and less recoil.
What about the scar 16? Great little rifle. The recoil is nothing on it but it does feels different than the m4. It tends to move upwards instead of to the side. Takes a bit of getting used to if you are used to the m4 recoil if you are shooting fast

Scar does have a funny recoil with that heavy bcg. I have never shot the apc308, I have the apc 300 and that shoots relatively smooth for a 300.
The apc series are pretty good with recoil overall but you are still shooting 308. You might want to consider something in 6.5. Better ballistics and less recoil.
What about the scar 16? Great little rifle. The recoil is nothing on it but it does feels different than the m4. It tends to move upwards instead of to the side. Takes a bit of getting used to if you are used to the m4 recoil if you are shooting fast

300 blackout very different animal than 308.
One is good with a short barrel suppressed under a few hundred years, the other one is meant to reach out with punching power up to 600-800 yards. The main reason to have a 308 as shtf would be as a dmr.
Do you plan on setting up a dmr rig?

Yup I’ve got a JP- LRI20 and two Wilson rangers in 308 in the works.
The blackouts would be for, what would be in my opinion, more likely scenarios- CQ defense like car and home. So suppressors a factor too... that said... if there’s a .308 that is good for close and far range like SCAR and POF, I’d take a look.

I want to get a PDW for home defense that my wife would enjoy training with. When she held my Battle Arms Silent Professional 300 blackout, she though it was a bit too heavy and long.
V Seven has one that’s really light and one inch shorter than the Silent Professional. It’s also expensive, and without a brace included it’s pushing $3,000.
1) Is this rifle shown below actually giving you what you’re paying for? Or is it just a name? (Joel Allen from Noveske).
2) Is the 6.5 inch barrel ruining the optimal ballistics for this caliber, (8 inches ideal?) and would it manage recoil well for a woman? ( she’s not strong)
There’s no way to test it out but it looks interesting.

Does anyone have some experience with the POF revolution? That looks great but I’ve seen mixed reviews.
Also looking at PWS, sounds like it’s a good value... if anyone has experience with these would appreciate the feedback.

I own one in 308 that stays in my safe. Quality rifle for sure. Have too many others in front of it that I end up shooting, so it just sits there.

Remember: The more different rifles you have, the more calibers you have, the more types of ammo you have/need. SHTF and you need to move, you'll need a bigger truck!

I’m a new member here, based in Las Vegas.
I’ve done a lot of reading on this website and have found it to be the most well informed and intelligent when it comes to rifles. Many of the selections you will see below have been based on your input...

Recently, I’ve gone on a buying spree for AR-15 and AR-10’s, due to the possibility of a Democratic government passing legislation and banning the manufacture of new, high capacity firearms.
To better explain:
I think the next psycho (that is currently locked up in his house due to Covid) who does a mass shooting will trigger a large protest, much like the George Floyd protests. The unemployed and the young have more time now, and hot button issues seem to be even hotter right now, with everyone on edge and/or bored. Of course, this is all speculation, but based on the direction things are going... I think there’s a good chance we’ll see it.
I’m stockpiling for my kids and their kids ... my kids are 2 and 5, so many of these guns will remain in their boxes with the tags on. seriously!
Trying to get as many as possible before November...
Money isn’t an object... I mainly want high quality, reliable rifles that will always retain their resale value and have great customer service.
Is there anything else I should consider for purchase? Or just get multiple of the same?
I’m likely looking to add one or two more...

EDIT: Well, I just placed an order for Radian Model 1 in 16' barrel, .223 Wylde. OD Green. Will compliment my other sons Zev Tech. Can't have them fighting over who gets the better gun, so they'll both get a good one hahaha. On to the next one! I think the focus will now be PCC and PDW types

Also ordered a Larue PredatOBR 16 inch barrel. Maybe I'll get it before I'm an old man. Now I Just need a 300 blackout... will save a 9mm PCC for another time.

These rifles are meant to be all purpose “battle rifles”... precision combined with durability. So Something like Tavor or bolt action isn’t an option for me.

This isn’t meant as an obnoxious post... I respect the expertise in these rooms and am fairy inexperienced. I want to buy once and cry once, especially with the time crunch factor.

btw, since some of you probably won’t believe it, here’s a picture of us with their POF Renegade, designated for them. (It’s now locked away in storage.the wilson rangers for them are currently in production.)

But a reloader, lots of brass and lead. Not sure on the quantity of gunpowder you can purchase at one time, but max it out every chance you get. Primers can be bought in bulk. You should try to find a good bolt gun that you like, in case an intruder makes it out alive you can still reach out and stop him. I have 2 that I use: Bergara 300PSR, and McMillan Tactical 338LM. Both good for 1760.

For a PDW or range toy, up to several hundred yards, you'll have good accuracy. I know you mentioned a Honey Badger, those are very light, and Sig makes a number of small form factor products. Noveske also is a very good product. I found a Noveske 7.94" 300 BLK that I'm considering pulling the trigger on (same as the ghetto blaster). As I mentioned, I've already got the DDMV4. Yes surprised I found the Noveske. Would put Q Trash Panda Can on it for subsonic ammo. With supersonic ammo, you can extend it up to 300-400 hundred yards. This type of product can either be a Truck/SUV gun, PDW, range toy, or hunting.

The 9mm and 5.56 don’t suppress as well, don’t they also lose a lot of their ballistic advantages in that size rifle?

Im not sold on the Rattler, but I know it’s popular.

Absolutely- I’ve limited myself to four calibers- .308, 5.56, 300, and 9mm. While there’s others I want, like 6.5 and .45, I’ve decided horse calibers cover my bases and simplify my life
