I have a Lymanns 48th edition. However it is copyright 2002. Do I need a new one? Also, I have no clue what powder I should choose and why. Need suggestions.

example. For 175 SMK Lymann nanual recommends IMR 4895 but also bolds N550 as a probable best accuracy load. 5K psi pressure differential for nearly identical velocities. Other threads talk about RL 15, My guy in Lake City says currently M118LR is using Saint Marks. Hence the question of what powder and why?

Specs: Its a LaRue AR10, 308/762, 18" PredatAR barrel, 1"10 with a Mozillo Brake. Waiting on the can since Dec 2018. Will be seating 168 & 175 SMK in LC M118 LR brass shot by me from above mentioned rifle. I also have a massive pile of 2016 M80 who's brass will certainly get into the mix soon enough.

Do I need new manual?
What powder and primers?
I live in MN so temps could be anywhere from 0F to 100F. Maybe even daily LOL.

I was looking at CCI 200 and BR2 primers. My pin is spring suppported so I am not worried about slam fire anyways.

Service rifles are considered to be semi auto rifles that can't handle a full bolt action load of powder without risking damage to the firearm.

M14/M1A, AR10, FAL, HK91, etc would be considered service rifles.

So I will select that as I am reloading for my AR10. Cabelas has CCI 200 primers, Hodgden H4895 and SMK 168's and 175's in stock. Will have to run up there tomorrow.

Thanks.

P.S. Why am I even getting into reloading when I get 223 plinking ammo for $0.10/rnd and M118LR for $0.45/rnd? Riddle me this one Batman? Seriously. It would be way cheaper for me to simply remove the bullets and just play with powder charges and reassemble.
