Given the choice between the LRT, XCR or 5R which would you pick and why? The prices are close, so I guess it comes down to stock, trigger and barrel length. My first thoughts were to stick with the 20in tube, but if the 5R gets good marks for it's abilities to shoot varied weights well. Is the 40x trigger better than the X-mark Pro? Stocks? Etc.

The rifle will be used inside of 500 at an upcoming class then wander out farther from there. Eventually it may wind up in the cruiser, but that's a bit down the line.

I suppose this question comes up a lot, and I did do a good bit of searching, but it still leaves me wondering which rifle would be the best given roughly equal price?

Re: Help me pick

I was in the same boat a few years ago and went with a 5R. Swapped the stock to a McMillan (rifle didn't shoot any better, but it fit me better). Took the factory trigger down and loved it.

Re: Help me pick

My trigger research thus far shows the 40X trigger in the 5R, the X-Mark in the XCR and I don't know what the LTR has. Overall my reading says the X-Mark is the choice here, but I am open to opinions.

I thought the XCR was in a Bell & Carlson, the other two I don't know for sure.

The overall goal is to have the best shooting out of the box rifle, place mounts and optics on them and go shooting. Upgrades beyond that will have to wait until later. I know there is no guarantee any of the above will shoot well, but I need to get the best base I can for now.
