Help request for Delta Javalin owners 4.5-30x56

I'm in Europe. Just bought a Delta Javalin 4.5-30x56. New ones have been out of stock for a few weeks and aren't coming back in stock for another month. So I bought an open box shop demo. Got a reasonable discount, although it's missing the objective lens cover.

Just mounted it on the rifle. Tried to fit the sunshade and it won't go on. It looks to me like there is a ring screwed on in front of the objective end of the scope and which has a length extending about 0.2 inch past the end of the scope tube. This ring feels like it is threaded on the inside, but the internal diameter is slightly less than that of the scope tube, therefore the sunshade which is the same diameter as the scope won't fit. Because this ring is so short, I can't get a grip on it to unscrew it - if it actually unscrews.

So I guess the question is, "How do I get a screw on ring unstuck from the end of a scope?"

I don't think putting the ring in hot water will help as it will just expand harder into the scope tube.

Thanks for that second video, that gave me a lot of info. That tool was in the box. It looks like I have the ring on the right hand side of the screenshot, but I do not have the notches cut into the edge of the ring on my copy, in order to take the tool. So cannot use that tool as there is nothing for it to grip into.

I guess the options are to get my dremmel tool out and cut some notches or send the scope back. Both have a PITA factor, I'll have to think about which is less PITA.

Could you use a strap wrench around it?
