I think it’s time I let this baby go. It’s an SR-15 16” MLOK with MAMs, TD grip, KAC irons, and the original b5 sopmod, and a raptor charging handle. stock KAC 2 stage and all that probably less than 1k rounds through it. It was a separate lower mated to a KAC upper but lockup is tight. With today’s market what do you think she’s worth? I appreciate any feedback in advance, just trying not to over/under value.

Start your valuation by looking at gunbroker sale prices for like-kind set-ups. Maybe watch a few auctions to see where they go, adjust for any material differences between yours and the rifles in each auction when putting together your appraisal.

If still uncertain, you want to be high on your initial list price as you can always come down. Otherwise, you risk giving someone a smoking deal, leaving money on the table.

Sorry, I saw Pappakap and I ALMOST thought it said "Paparockcal..."

So yeah, GB prices ARE all over the place and Mk16's or SCAR16 or 16s or SCARL or whatever the fuck you wanna call it was going for $3500 since last fall. Normally it'd cost me $2799. Word is FN stopped making 'em but nobody knows, FN won't say.

However, all this happened during a panic.

So now they're still listing insane shit, $10k for a SCAR with an ACOG, but I just picked one up for a bit over MSRP. I won't pay more than that even during panics, that's saying I really want it and can't order one like normal, I'll just be patient and I'll get it, I always do.

On the other hand, I had to be patient because one after another were snatched away last minute when some ambush bidder would take it up to nearly $4k.

So like he said, it's worth exactly as much as you can get in the time you have to sell it.

Everyone is looking for a deal, so on the other side I had to be patient on the last three I sold so as not to get fucked. Wasn't looking scam anyone but wasn't giving shit away either, "I know what I have" the saying goes. Thing is I did. I got what I wanted, and I feel it fair for all involved but it did take a while.

FWIW I could give you $1.5k it being used and my position at the moment, but I'm sure you could get more if you're patient. PM me if you're not though.

$1.5k.

Rules say no sales outside the PX, don't recall anything about auctions though! Seriously, wouldn't it be funny if just this one did go like that though?

Seriously though, I suppose a good price would be x% off MSRP, however much 1k rounds is worth in wear and tear plus any visible damage no matter how light. There are books that tell you how to value them but I forgot, it's been a looong time and that stuff really isn't relevant in today's age.

If KAC SN's both upper and lower (I forgot and don't feel like going to the safe) then that'd be a big hit right there for the collector type.

With it not being a factory build and used its hard to price. Sell the upper and the lower separate from each other. Personally I would keep it.

Unfortunately on gunbroker there are a lot of AR builds with reasonable starting prices that sit there month after month. The low start no reserve auctions often come in at half of the build cost or less.

You may be better off finding a LGS that does consignment. Many walk in customers are not as price savy and will pay more.

There is a lot of fear over Biden pushing gun bans. He isn't right now, but if/when he does it will create a new panic buy on ARs. Might be worth waiting to see if you can get the panic price for it.

He is likely to try before he may not have a majority in 2022.

I wouldn't necessarily label this a build. It's a complete KAC upper mated to a KAC lower.

OP - I'd go at least 3500.00 on it, minimum.

Right now new complete sr15 lowers sell for 850-900. I’m sure someone would pay 800 for a used one. A new upper sells for 1700-1800, plus the mams. 3500 is way overpriced.

That's your opinion. Stick with the 35 OP, you'll thank me later.
