Re: help w/ recoil pad for Zel PRS adapter

Its a Pachmayr F325 Large Field Pad, if its straight out of the box with no fitting it's easy. Give limbsaver a call to cross ref. F325 to there model.

Re: help w/ recoil pad for Zel PRS adapter

Been down this road. I had a Zel PRS adapter on my OBR with a Limbsaver Grind-to-Fit pad. Below is what I had ordered from Brownells to make this work.

100-006-322
TACTILITE M/P ADAPTER

902-000-074
10543 LIMBSAVER LARGE GRIND-TO-FIT PAD

I had ordered the adapter alone (it can be ordered with a Pachmayr pad attached), because I had read in other places the Limbsaver pad was a significant improvement over the Pachmayr due to its construction (Navcom polymer etc).

I recommend this combo. The Limbsaver pad is very comfortable.

Hope this helps.

you didnt have to grind it down did you? did you take a look at the 10101 rem 700 pad?

Re: help w/ recoil pad for Zel PRS adapter

I did not grind down the pad - just mounted it and went with it. From what I recall, I could have done some minor grinding to make it conform perfectly to outline of the adapter but did not feel it was warranted.

I am trying to recall why I did not go with the 10101 pad. I do know that I read quite a bit on this (including other sites) before taking the plunge.

Here is some additional threads on the subject from various locations:

If I recall correctly, mine ended up fitting like the second to the last picture on the first page of the following thread:

Re: help w/ recoil pad for Zel PRS adapter

Yes, I believe that was it. You can see where there is a little edge protruding from the pad over a portion of the adapter, but it is negligible in my opinion. If it was an issue, I'd simply round that edge a bit instead of wholesale grinding operation. The Limbsaver's recoil absorbing polymer is nice. Though I am no engineer, it seemed ideal for its intended purpose to me. Here is some background info on it - appears to be more than just rubber.

I have recently had shoulder surgery and the .308 seems to kick a little harder than it used to lol. I am glad I came across this Brownell's is sold out so I may have to go direct from ZEL
