Help with 22lr optic choices

I'm a big believer in buying optics and have no problem if they cost more than the rifle. My Trijicon is crystal clear, needs
no tools to adjust the zero, has zero stops and is 1/8 MOA. It also adjusts down to 9 yards without losing clarity. It is a 5-50 x56
and with all of that power, I can use it as a range finder out past 100 yards. I shoot Field Target which is simulated hunting and
we don't know the distance to target and a separate ranging device is not allowed. Everything on the scope is very refined. It has an
illuminated reticle in red and green but I rarely use it. Someone asked me about clarity when close up. They used fuzz as
a descriptor. Even at 50 power and at 9 yards, you can see the fuzz and the paper texture. The internal subtensions are at a 1:1
when at 40 power. That makes for easy hold over.... windage in my case. I use my DOPE and click up/down. The outside of the
power ring has a square around the 40 power to remind you of that fact. It also has a multiplier scale in the reticle for other
power settings. The internal scale is the semi circle of numbers in the last photo. The one shown is for a 30X scope so it is different
than my RS50 scope. It makes it very easy to do any math in your head. If you buy cheap glass.... you will regret it !!
B&H photo has a30 day test / return drive policy.... I'm not sure how you can go wrong with that.

Down to 9yrds at full power? No shit… interesting

Hey TurboTrout,

Yes sir !! 9 yards at 50 power and still crystal clear. The photo is from my phone and not the scope but the scope in bright daylight
is that clear as well.
The fine paper hairs, texture on the paper best seen in the black lines. It's hard to tell in my poorly lite house looking at crown molding
detail but yes .... 9 yards at 50 power. The scope is actually labeled to 10 yards though I never rely on that kind of thing.
They have some other very slick features that I really like. The only downside is the 2K price point. WTH..... I'm worth it
and it's a one time purchase.

I also have a Leupold 6.5 X 20 EFR scope that goes below 10. Just did it in the house as well. It is designed to do it. The EFR is
Extended Focal Range. It's probably around $750.00. Be certain you look through the EFR model. They hold their value really well.

It will also stand up to the scope destroying double whiplash of a spring gun. The only reason I stopped using it after the 1993 worlds was
it's 20 power limit. In Field Target, we don't know the target distance so a higher power has a tremendous advantage over it.
As an "A" class shooter I need the best equipment if I expect to place. And I always expect to place.

The glass is perfect from edge to edge. If all I shot was known distance like BR50, It would be just fine. Truly, It takes a lot
of mental focus to ignore the small body movements that get magnified with high power. Even at 20 power it is very easy
to see your movement produced by your heartbeat when shooting in the seated position as shown in the attachment.

Years ago I bought a Burris 8-32 for FT..... I had it for about 36 hours. Someone who had much lower standards than me got
saved a bunch of money on it. But they also lost points because of it. That's not a good deal in my mind.

With the cost of stuff about to sky rocket, my air-guns are going to see a lot more use than my .22LRs.

BTW... the 6" parallax wheel is a custom piece that allows me to know if it's 50 or 51 yards or 76 or 77 yards etc. A must have in FT.

Plenty of people will say that all that power isn't needed for NRL/PRS etc... I like to remind them.... I need it for FT comps.
Down to 9yrds at full power? No shit… interesting
